What's more, Patriots owner Robert Kraft said the plan is to build a 12-foot tall statue of Brady outside the team's Hall of Fame, per Mark Daniels of Mass Live.
The Patriots kicked off the celebration of Brady with a tribute video narrated by John Cena:
Plenty of people were in attendance, including some of his former teammates:
That New England rolled out the red carpet for Brady comes as no surprise. After all, he is widely considered the greatest quarterback in NFL history and led the franchise to six Super Bowl titles during his illustrious career.
He won a seventh with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which gives him more Super Bowl rings than any single franchise.
New England famously drafted Brady in the sixth round in 2000, and he played 20 seasons for the team and his final three for Tampa Bay. His resume is unmatched and includes those seven Lombardi Trophies, five Super Bowl MVPs, three league MVPs and 15 Pro Bowl selections.
Brady went 219-64 in the regular season as a starter for the Patriots and completed 63.8 percent of his passes for 74,571 yards, 541 touchdowns and 179 interceptions. He led the league in passing yards four times and passing touchdowns five times during his career.
The future Hall of Famer has been under the spotlight this offseason, as he was roasted on a Netflix special by head coach Bill Belichick and many of his former teammates. Many of them were in attendance again Wednesday as the franchise continues to celebrate his legacy.
That legacy will be on full display with the statue, and nobody will wear No. 12 for the Patriots again in the future.
