NBA Finals 2024: Scott Foster, Tony Brothers Among Officials for Celtics-Mavericks

The NBA announced on Tuesday the list of officials who will work the NBA Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics, which kicks off on Thursday night.

Those officials are Tony Brothers (13th Finals), Bill Kennedy (sixth Finals), James Capers (12th Finals), Courtney Kirkland (fourth Finals), Marc Davis (13th Finals), Kevin Scott (second Finals), Scott Foster (17th Finals), Josh Tiven (fifth Finals), John Goble (eighth Finals), James Williams (fourth Finals), David Guthrie (seventh Finals) and Zach Zarba (11th Finals).

"Each of these 12 officials have shown excellent skills, focus and commitment throughout the season and in the previous playoff rounds," the NBA's president of league operations, Byron Spruell, said in a statement. "Congratulations to this group for earning the right to work on the game's biggest stage, the NBA Finals."

Tyler Ford and Ben Taylor will serve as the alternate officials.

Officials have taken center stage on a number of occasions during this postseason, with several controversial calls impacting important games. Fans, players and likely the NBA's league office will be hoping that isn't the case during the Finals.

The NBA's championship-crowning series opens on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET, with Game 2 on Sunday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET, Game 3 on Wednesday, June 12 at 8:30 p.m. ET and Game 4 on Friday, June 14 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Game 5, if necessary, will be on Monday, June 17 at 8:30 p.m. ET. Game 6 will be on Thursday, June 20 at 8:30 p.m. ET if needed and Game 7 would be on Sunday, June 23 at 8 p.m. ET. All contests will be broadcast on ABC.
