Video: Adam Copeland Set for Surgery; Injured from Cage Jump at AEW Double or Nothing
AEW star Adam Copeland announced Tuesday that he fractured his tibia, which will require surgery.
Copeland suffered the injury Sunday night at Double or Nothing during his TNT Championship match against Malakai Black, which took place inside a barbed wire steel cage.

The 50-year-old veteran seemed to confirm that the spot that caused the injury was when he jumped from the top of the cage onto Black, who was prone on a table.
Copeland appeared to be going for an elbow drop, but he barely made contact with Black and landed awkwardly with his feet hitting the mat forcefully.
While Copeland managed to finish the match and beat Black thanks to help from his old Brood stablemate, Gangrel, it seems likely that he will have to vacate the TNT title while he recovers.
Best known for his time in WWE as Edge, Copeland left the only major wrestling company he had ever known for AEW last year when his contract expired.
The WWE Hall of Famer made his AEW debut at WrestleDream in October, and he has been one of the promotion's top stars ever since.
Notably, Copeland had a multi-match series with longtime friend Christian Cage, resulting in The Rated-R Superstar winning the TNT title on a March episode of Dynamite in his hometown of Toronto.
Copeland had several successful title defenses after that, including wins over House of Black members Brody King and Buddy Matthews, leading to his match against Black at Double or Nothing.
While Copeland beat Black and retained the title, it was a pyrrhic victory, as he now figures to miss a significant amount of time due to injury.
Despite his age and the fact that he was largely working a part-time schedule in WWE after returning in 2020 from what was once thought to be a career-ending neck injury, Copeland's AEW schedule has been close to full-time in nature.
Copeland said Tuesday that he is unsure how long he will be out of action, but all signs point toward him now having to take quite a bit of time off in order to get surgery and recover.
He will represent a massive loss to AEW programming, although AEW is somewhat fortunate that Copeland's injury coincides with the return of MJF, who made a surprise appearance at Double or Nothing after missing the past five months.
