Tom Brady: Jordan Love Sitting Behind Aaron Rodgers Was The 'Best Type of Training'
Jordan Love was one of the better stories of the 2023 NFL season. He led the Green Bay Packers to the divisional round of the playoffs after throwing for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns during the regular season.
But he had to wait until his fourth season before he became the Green Bay Packers' starting quarterback. NFL legend Tom Brady thinks it was the best thing that could have happened for his career.
"He had Aaron Rodgers to watch. That's the best type of training, in my opinion. Watch someone else do it at a very high level and then try to emulate them with your own personality," the future Hall of Famer said during Monday's The Herd with Colin Cowherd (8:30 mark). "Maybe a little bit of a misnomer with the draft is that these players can come in and all of the sudden become this great professional player before they've really had the training and the development."

Brady added that he was lucky to study behind Drew Bledsoe in his first NFL season before he took over as the Patriots' quarterback in his second season after his predecessor was injured.
He went on to have a legendary career from there, winning seven overall Super Bowls and going down in history as the game's greatest quarterback.
Not everybody will follow the Brady path, of course. He's a once-in-a-generation type of player. But the NFL has grown increasingly impatient with young quarterbacks, throwing them into the fire immediately while expecting success. Along the way, perhaps some much-needed developmental time has been lost.
