CFB Coach Praises Xavier Worthy, Chiefs Fit: Can't Ask for 'Better Situation' for WR
The hype is already starting to build for Kansas City Chiefs first-round pick Xavier Worthy.
Multiple college football coaches spoke to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN and praised the Texas speedster's fit with the Chiefs.
"He's a helluva player, and Kansas City's a good fit for him as well," one Big 12 defensive assistant said. "In that system, in that scheme, they have some possession receivers; you can't ask for a better situation for him."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Worthy soared up draft boards after running a 4.21-second time in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine. His time broke the previous record of 4.22 seconds, which was set by John Ross in 2018.
Worthy is not only a speedster on paper, but he was also highly productive at Texas. He earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 2023 after recording 75 receptions for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns last season.
The Chiefs have been in desperate need of explosive playmaking since they traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins ahead of the 2022 season. They've remained one of the best offenses in the NFL thanks in large part to the brilliance of Patrick Mahomes, but the team did not have a 1,000-yard receiver in 2023.
With second-year wideout Rashee Rice potentially facing an NFL punishment after being involved in a high-speed car crash this offseason, Worthy will likely be thrust into the lineup early and expected to perform.
