Under Armour All-America Game 2012: Deion Sanders Jr. Ready for Prime Time
What's in a name, you ask?
Well, quite a bit, actually—especially if yours is Deion Sanders Jr. The son of the NFL Hall of Famer, Sanders—a senior out of Marcus High School in Texas—will make his "Prime Time" debut at the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game on Wednesday evening, looking to make Papa Prime proud on national television.
Sanders Jr. isn't quite the can't-miss, blue-chip prospect Daddy Dearest was coming out of high school, but the kid's still no slouch. Like his famous father, Jr. is a speedy cornerback, though at 5'8" and 175 pounds, he doesn't exactly sport ideal size to go along with his inherited quickness on the outside.
According to Scout.com, Jr.'s best and only offers thus far have come from Houston and North Texas. Apparently, there's only so much a name can afford when you're a three-star prospect and the 118th-ranked player at your position in your high school class.
Still, it's tough to deny the potential of the pedigree. His dad was one of the greatest defensive backs to ever play the game, not to mention one of the most gifted multi-sport athletes of all time.
If nothing else, Lil' Deion can always fall back on a lucrative career in the music industry...
...or not.
Hopefully, for his sake, Sanders swags better on a football field than he does while attempting to lip sync with his friends in his backyard.
