Jordan Travis Pick Loved by Fans as Jets Get Aaron Rodgers' Backup After Wilson Trade
The New York Jets selected Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis with the No. 171 overall pick in the NFL draft on Saturday.
The Jets sent the No. 185 and No. 190 picks to the Philadelphia Eagles to move up from Round 6 to Round 5 to take Travis.
Travis now joins a quarterback room featuring starter Aaron Rodgers and veteran second-stringer Tyrod Taylor. The early returns from fans are quite positive.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Last season, Travis completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 20 touchdowns (just two interceptions) and 2,756 yards. He also rushed for seven scores en route to leading Florida State to an 11-0 start.
The four-year starter at FSU suffered a devastating leg injury in November, but he's done so well since that he's projected to be ready for training camp, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
It's not impossible to see Travis as the Jets' QB of the future as well post-Rodgers. Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, one scout thinks that could be the case.
For now, Travis serves as a developmental quarterback behind Rodgers. If something happens to the veteran, then Taylor should be the next one in line, so it's not as if Travis will be thrust into duty right away.
He's also thrilled to be a Jet:
Ultimately, Travis could end up being a massive steal for the Jets, who are trying to break a 13-year skid outside the playoffs. They've done well for themselves so far in this draft, notably selecting some help up front (Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu) alongside two other skill-position players (Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley and Washington running back Braelon Allen).
