Paul George Says Clippers Don't Have 'an Identity' as Kawhi Leonard Blasts Hawks Loss
After losing four of their last five games, the Los Angeles Clippers are searching for answers.
Sunday's loss was particularly demoralizing, as the Clippers fell to the Atlanta Hawks 110-93 on their home floor at Crypto.com Arena. The Hawks were playing without star point guard Trae Young and still led by as many as 29 points in the contest.
After the game, Clippers star Paul George said he agrees that the team looks like a veteran-laden group that believes it can turn it on when it wants to, and he added that there are still things that need to be figured out at this stage in the season.
"I mean that's what we're appearing to look like, which is not good," George said, per ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "We want to be a team that's consistent and we want to establish an identity. I've always spoken about having an identity and I think it's extremely important. Right now, I don't think we have an identity."
Star forward Kawhi Leonard also was unhappy after losing to the Hawks, telling reporters he feels the team is "stuck in the mud" and the players have to "at least play hard."
The Clippers fell to 42-25 with Sunday's loss. They look like a completely different team from the one that had a 26-5 stretch in December and January and went 6-1 on its Grammy road trip. Los Angeles has gone 8-10 since Feb. 5.
The Clippers will look to end their skid when they return to action on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers (19-48).
