LeBron Talks 'Unacceptable' Performance
The Timberwolves were missing Rudy Gobert with a hamstring issue and Kyle Anderson to a right shoulder injury, alongside ongoing absences from Karl-Anthony Towns and Monte Morris.
Sunday's lineup marked the Timberwolves' ninth different starting five of the season, according to Alan Horton of Wolves Radio.
Despite those roster limitations, the Timberwolves claimed a late lead thanks to a 20-3 run in the third quarter.
Minnesota's hopes of holding onto that advantage were short-lived. Los Angeles responded by putting Davis and James on the court, sparking a 26-6 run in the fourth.
James had 21 points in the second half alone.
Austin Reaves added 19 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win.
The Lakers' recovery from the third-period deficit thanks to Davis and James led to praise for the team's starters from fans.
Davis and James will return to action Wednesday as the Lakers head up north to take on the Sacramento Kings.
