Jordan Poyer, Dolphins Agree to 1-Year Contract in NFL Free Agency After Bills Tenure
After spending the last seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills, veteran safety Jordan Poyer will be wearing the uniform of a division rival in 2024.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Poyer agreed to a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday. The Dolphins will be the fourth franchise of Poyer's 12-year career.
ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques reported Poyer's one-year deal is worth $2 million.

Pickens' Trade Ultimatum
After being drafted in the seventh round by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013 and spending three-plus seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Poyer signed with Buffalo in 2017 and became a mainstay in the team's defensive backfield. However, the Bills entered the offseason over $40 million above the salary cap, so they made the tough decision to cut Poyer along with fellow longtime starters Tre'Davious White and Mitch Morse.
Poyer appeared in 16 games in 2023 and ranked second on the Bills with 101 total tackles while also adding four passes defended, a sack and a forced fumble. He helped lead Buffalo to its fourth straight AFC East title and a run to the AFC Divisional Round where it lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
A first-team All-Pro in 2021 and a Pro Bowl selection in 2022, Poyer is among the best safeties in the league. The 32-year-old has 807 career tackles in 155 games.
Signing Poyer is a strong addition for Miami as it tries to compete for another playoff spot next season.
