NFL Draft 2024 Rumors: Giants Could Target QB If Correct Situation 'Presents Itself'
The New York Giants could potentially come away from the 2024 NFL draft with a new quarterback.
According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, the Giants would be "seriously willing to look at the quarterback position" as long as the right "situation presents itself."

New York owns the No. 6 overall pick in the draft, with two more selections in the second round. Although the Giants signed current quarterback Daniel Jones to a four-year deal worth $160 million in the 2023 offseason, the team may look for a cheaper option on a rookie-scale contract moving forward.
Jones struggled with inconsistency throughout the first half of the year, recording only 884 pass yards in his first five starts while tossing just two touchdowns compared to six interceptions. He went down with a knee injury in Week 9 that was later revealed to be a torn ACL, costing him the rest of his season.
Raanan mentioned that Jones' injury history could be a factor for New York's front office to consider when evaluating quarterback prospects.
"So when you're looking at it from the Giants perspective, are general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll willing to risk their professional careers with a quarterback with that injury history?" he asked.
While Schoen told reporters on Jan. 30 that New York would be looking at "every position" ahead of the draft, he made it clear that "the expectation is for [Jones] to be the starter when he's healthy going into camp."
The Giants are in a tricky position if they're attempting to target a first-round quarterback, as the top signal-callers in the draft will likely be off the board by the time New York is on the clock. USC's Caleb Williams, North Carolina's Drake Maye, and LSU's Jayden Daniels were all selected with the first three picks in the latest mock draft by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.
