Adrian Peterson has not ruled out a return to the NFL.
The 38-year-old running back told Danny Kannell of CBS Sports that he hasn't officially retired and that he's "always open to get out there and play again."
"We'll see what happens," Peterson added.

Peterson hasn't played in the NFL since 2021 when he spent time with the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks.
The seven-time Pro Bowler told Kanell that he needed to let his body recover after suffering a pinched nerve in Seattle. He didn't want to have surgery to repair the ailment and said it took "about a year" for it to heal.
Peterson wasn't very effective in 2021. He rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns in just four games between the Titans and Seahawks.
Considering his performance was subpar the last time he stepped on the gridiron and the fact that he's now been out of the league for two seasons, it's hard to envision Peterson finding a home with a franchise in 2024.
That doesn't take away from the legendary career Peterson has put together.
The Oklahoma product was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2007 and spent 10 seasons with the franchise, earning the 2007 Offensive Rookie of the Year award, 2012 MVP award, seven Pro Bowl selections and four First Team All-Pro honors.
Peterson is Minnesota's all-time leader in rushing yards (11,747) and rushing touchdowns (97). He also posted the most rushing yards (2,097 in 2012) and rushing touchdowns (18 in 2009) in a single season in franchise history.
Aside from the Vikings, Peterson also suited up for the Washington Commanders, Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints. He has rushed for 14,918 yards and 120 touchdowns in 184 games across 15 seasons, in addition to catching 305 passes for 2,474 yards and six scores.
Peterson is one of just eight NFL running backs to rush for at least 2,000 yards in a season and he ranks fifth on the league's all-time rushing yards list behind Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Frank Gore and Barry Sanders.
If Peterson does end up signing with a franchise ahead of the 2024 campaign, he likely won't play much. However, he would bring a boatload of experience and a championship mindset with him.
