Jameis Winston Addresses Saints Future: 'Doesn't Look Like a Very Clear Picture'
After spending the past four seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Jameis Winston may not be returning to the team in 2024.
Speaking to Kyle T. Mosley of Saints News Network, Winston said his goal to be "a Super Bowl-winning starting quarterback" in the NFL "doesn't look like a very clear picture" with the Saints right now.
If there was any doubt the Saints are committed to Derek Carr as their starter going into next season, they ended it on Friday by reportedly restructuring his contract as part of the organization's annual need to push money into the future to become cap-compliant in the present.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The Saints will need to find a backup to Carr if they lose Winston. Taysom Hill could fill that role if necessary, though he's only attempted 30 passes over the past two seasons combined.
Jake Haener, who was a fourth-round draft pick last year, is the only other quarterback currently under contract to the Saints.
Winston hasn't been a full-time starter since the 2022 season. He suffered multiple back fractures in Week 1 but was able to start the next two games before being inactive in Weeks 4 and 5.
After Winston returned, the Saints named him their backup to Andy Dalton. He appeared in seven games last season, going 25-of-47 for 264 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
Some teams could be seeking a veteran with starting experience who can either get them through the 2024 season or at least help bridge the gap until a rookie is ready to take over.
Winston will presumably be seeking out those teams if he wants to get the opportunity to enter next season as a starter.
