Ron Holland, 2024 NBA Draft Prospect, to Miss Rest of Season with Thumb Injury

Paul KasabianFeb 17, 2024

Ron Holland, a forward for the NBA G League Ignite and a potential top-10 2024 NBA draft pick, will miss the remainder of the season with a right thumb injury, according to Marc J. Spears of Andscape.

The 6'8" Holland landed fourth overall in the latest NBA mock draft from Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman. He also sits fourth on the latest B/R NBA draft big board.

Holland, who turns 19 in July, averaged 20.6 points on 44.3 percent shooting, 6.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals in 14 games for the Ignite.

Per Spears, Holland suffered the injury during a Jan. 31 game against the G League's Iowa Wolves.

Although it's a disappointing end to the season for Holland, he still looks forward to an NBA career and getting ready for the draft.

"I'm at peace with where we're I'm at my career," Holland told Spears.

"And I feel like all the games that I played this season, I've done really good," he added. "I've grown a lot. I've learned a lot about the game and about myself and just about life. I feel like I've put enough energy and effort in the right amount of film out there for me to say I'm able to be a top-10 draft pick."

Holland will assuredly hear his name during the earlier portion of the proceedings on June 26, when the first round of the NBA draft will take place.
