Say Goodbye to Sting
For longtime fans, Revolution will be a bittersweet event as Sting is scheduled to retire following his AEW Tag Team Championship match against The Young Bucks.
The term "end of an era" is often thrown around, but with performers like The Undertaker, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and now The Icon hanging up their boots, the book officially closes on a bygone era in wrestling.
And what better way to send a legend to retirement than by putting over Darby Allin and The Young Bucks on his way out? The younger performers will do most of the work in the tornado tag team match, but expect Sting to pull off a memorable moment or two since he knows he does not have to climb back into the squared circle again.
From a storyline perspective, the heel rise of EVPs Nicholas and Matthew Jackson has been fun to watch, with their blood-soaked suits acting as an ode to an era represented by performers like Sting.
With the crowd fully behind Sting and Allin, the in-ring battle should be an all-time great match, but the ending of the bout and The Icon's retirement will undoubtedly result in one of the most emotional farewells in recent wrestling history.
Deonna Purrazzo Needs to Win
While the booking of the AEW women's division has left a lot to be desired over the last two years, the tide has turned in recent months.
Led by "Timeless" Toni Storm, the strong roster of female competitors has been given more time and opportunity to shine.
Storm and her recent run with Mariah May and Luther have been nothing short of incredible, but that should pave the way for new arrival Deonna Purrazzo to swoop in and earn the AEW Women's World Championship.
Storm's gimmick is so strong that she does not need the title. Add in the fact that May could turn on the champion and cost her the belt, and losing the championship could actually make Storm's character stronger, fueled by heel tactics and old-school Hollywood vengeance.
On the other hand, Purrazzo was touted as a major signing, and winning the title would immediately cement her dominance. With Mercedes Moné likely on her way to AEW, giving the former TNA champion the belt now would ensure the fans view her arrival as a success.
