Video: Will Zalatoris Wins Himself, Caddie a Car with Genesis Invitational Hole-in-1
Will Zalatoris and his caddie will be heading home from the Genesis Invitational with some new wheels.
Zalatoris won himself and his caddie, Joel Stock, new cars on Friday with a hole-in-one on the 184-yard par-3 14th hole at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California, in the second round of the Genesis Invitational.
Any player who makes the first hole-in-one each day of the tournament on the 14th hole is awarded a Genesis GV80 while his caddie receives a Genesis Electrified GV70. This is also true for the first player to card a hole-in-one on the 16th hole, though the player is awarded a Genesis GV70 and the caddie a Genesis GV60.
"I think it was 180, pin back, into the wind and we were just trying to hit it kind of right in the middle of that gap between the two bunkers," Zalatoris said after his round, per PGATour.com. "I just pulled it about 10 feet and it landed perfectly on the fringe and killed it.
"Lucky to go in," he added. "It was a nice little bonus."
The hole-in-one was just the second of Zalatoris' career. He also made a hole-in-one on the par-3 seventh hole at the 2020 U.S. Open at Winged Foot.
Zalatoris finished the second round one-under par and he is six under through two rounds. If he were to win the tournament, he would receive $4 million and a 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe.
