Patrick Mahomes Vows Chiefs Will 3-Peat as Super Bowl Champs: 'We're Doing It'
Patrick Mahomes isn't tired of winning Lombardi Trophies.
In fact, he told the crowd at the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl celebration that he is already eyeing a third straight title.
"We know we had to go on the road last year, but I promise you next year we'll be at home," he said. "We're going for that three-peat. Don't get it twisted, we're doing it. Three times. First time in NFL history, we're doing it."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Wednesday's celebration was the Chiefs' first time in front of their home fans in Kansas City for some time.
Their only home playoff game came in the Wild Card Round against the Miami Dolphins back on Jan. 13, and they had little trouble in a 26-7 victory. However, things were much more difficult from there with a road matchup against Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round and a road game against MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.
Yet Kansas City emerged from both with close victories.
Buffalo kicker Tyler Bass missed a field goal in the final two minutes that could have forced overtime in the Chiefs' 27-24 win, and Kansas City's defense forced three turnovers while keeping Jackson in check during a 17-10 win over Baltimore.
Both the defense and Mahomes had their impressive moments in Sunday's 25-22 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers, and the result was a second consecutive Lombardi Trophy and third championship in five years.
Mahomes found Mecole Hardman for the winning touchdown in the extra period, putting the exclamation mark on yet another incredible accomplishment for someone who is already an all-time great at 28 years old.
Now he has the opportunity to do something that not even Tom Brady did during a career that featured seven Super Bowl rings.
No team in NFL history has ever three-peated as champions, but Kansas City has the formula to make history. It will have a chance in every game as long as Mahomes is under center, and the defense was among the league's best this season. If the front office adds another receiving weapon or two to the roster, the Chiefs may be even more dangerous in 2024.
That would mean trouble for the rest of the league.
