
Patriots Rumors: Brian Belichick Will Be Part of Jerod Mayo's Staff After Bill's Exit
There will at least be one member of the Belichick family prowling the New England Patriots sideline in 2024.
ESPN's Mike Reiss reported safeties coach Brian Belichick is staying on the staff. He's the youngest son of legendary head coach Bill Belichick.
In January, new head coach Jerod Mayo said Brian and Steve Belichick would have the opportunity to remain with the team.

"We have a great relationship," he said on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show (via Dakota Randall of NESN.com). "They have the option to stay, they have the option to go with their father if they would like to. … Still kind of going through it. They're great coaches. We'll see what happens."

Brian first joined the Pats in 2016 and became a full-time coaching assistant a year later. He was promoted to safeties coach ahead of the 2020 season.
The coaching staff and front office are both starting to take shape as the organization embarks on a new era.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that Eliot Wolf is poised to become the lead figure on personnel matters. According to Chad Graff, Manny Navarro and Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, Alonzo Highsmith is also coming aboard on an unspecified personnel role. He had been Miami's general manager of football operations.
On the coaching side, Mayo has tabbed Alex Van Pelt as his offensive coordinator with DeMarcus Covington running the defense.
