NFL Rumors: 49ers, Chiefs Players Allowed to Gamble in Las Vegas After Super Bowl 58
A gambling ban placed on players participating in Super Bowl LVIII will reportedly be lifted once the game is over.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers players are not permitted to gamble in Las Vegas leading up to the big game, but the NFL and NFL Players Association have agreed to end the ban at the conclusion of the Super Bowl.
That means players who hit the town in celebration after the Super Bowl, which is being played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday, can fully partake in the casino experience.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The NFL has been cracking down on player gambling over the past couple of years, although that has primarily related to betting on NFL games and betting on anything while inside team facilities.
Wide receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended for the entire 2022 season while with the Atlanta Falcons after it was found that he bet on games involving the Falcons in 2021.
Ridley was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars during his suspension, and upon returning this season, he finished with 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns with the Jags.
In April 2023, it was announced that four Detroit Lions players in wide receivers Jameson Williams, Stanley Berryhill and Quintez Cephus and safety C.J. Moore, as well as Washington Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney were also suspended for gambling.
The suspensions were of varying lengths and some of them were due to players placing mobile bets while at the team facility, which is a violation of NFL rules.
NFL players typically aren't prohibited from going to casinos during the season and participating in games like poker, blackjack and roulette, but that is the case for those participating in the Super Bowl, at least until it is over.
Even if they were permitted to gamble, it is perhaps unlikely that many players would have done so, as their primary focus is undoubtedly on the biggest game of the year.
The Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, are set to participate in their fourth Super Bowl in the past five seasons, and they have a chance to score their third Super Bowl win in that time frame.
Running back Christian McCaffrey, quarterback Brock Purdy and the 49ers will play in their second Super Bowl in the past five seasons, and they are looking to win their first championship since 1994.
The 49ers are slight, two-point favorites, per DraftKings Sportsbook, but the Chiefs have played their best football of the season during the playoffs and are buoyed by one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
