Bulls Rumors: No 'Expectation' DeMar DeRozan Gets Traded; '0.0%' for Alex Caruso Deal
Despite losing star shooting guard Zach LaVine to season-ending foot surgery, the Chicago Bulls are reportedly likely to stand pat by Thursday's trade deadline.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported on Monday's episode of The Hoop Collective that the Bulls are not expected to move their top assets DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso this week.
"The intel in the league right now... is that despite the LaVine injury, the Bulls are not actively looking to trade those guys. ... There is not an expectation that DeRozan is gonna get traded, and I have heard '0.0' on Caruso," Windhorst said at the 28:20 mark.

Caruso is one of the most coveted players around the league for being a quintessential "glue guy" who can affect the game in a variety of ways. DeRozan is playing on an expiring contract and would be an instant offensive boost to a team hoping to contend for a playoff spot and compete for an NBA title.
At 23-27, Chicago ranks ninth in the Eastern Conference. Windhorst noted that the teams ranked behind the Bulls are too inconsistent to pose a threat to pass them in the standings, which could influence them to keep their core together.
Chicago will be back in action on Tuesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
