Max Muncy Says Dodgers 'Blew it' With 2023 MLB Postseason Loss to D-Backs
As the offseason comes nears its end, Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy still has his team's postseason exit on his mind.
After finishing the regular season with an impressive 100-62 record, the Dodgers were swept in the NLDS against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Per Fox Sports' Rowan Kavner, Muncy didn't sugarcoat the feeling he had after the embarrassing loss.
"It's still there. There's no way around it, we sucked," Muncy said. "We really kind of blew it, and I'm not trying to take anything away from the Diamondbacks, they obviously played very well and hats off to them, but we blew it."

The 2023 postseason marked the second straight NLDS exit for the Dodgers despite winning 100 games or more in both of the last two seasons.
In the Dodgers' sluggish postseason showing in 2023, Muncy managed just two hits in three games, and his teammates didn't bail him out, picking up just six runs in the entire series. The Diamondbacks opened the series with a crushing 11-2 win and never looked back, steamrolling the Dodgers on their way to a World Series appearance.
This season, Muncy and the Dodgers are looking for a better postseason showing than the last two years. Los Angeles had a big offseason, signing Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and a handful of other key players. The Dodgers also traded for starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow, giving them another big name in the rotation.
With all the added star power, the pressure will be on for the Dodgers to have success this postseason. Los Angeles' only World Series victory since 1988 came in the shortened 2020 season despite the Dodgers having plenty of regular season success in that timeframe.
The feeling of coming up short in the postseason has stuck with Muncy, and he'll be looking to makeup for the performance this season.
