Cowboys' Micah Parsons on Commanders' Dan Quinn Hire: 'Appreciate His Greatness'
Dallas Cowboys All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons is happy to see his former defensive coordinator patrolling the sidelines for a division foe.
Dan Quinn, who served as Dallas' defensive coordinator since the 2021 season, was formally hired as the new head coach of the Washington Commanders on Saturday.
"They're getting a real upstanding, outstanding guy, man," Parsons said at the Pro Bowl (h/t NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe). "I hope those players buy in and play extremely hard for him, and understand that ain't no one going to love them and care more about them than Dan Quinn. So man, please appreciate his presence, appreciate his greatness, and take care of my guy."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
In the season before Quinn's arrival, Dallas allowed the fifth-most points and the second-most rushing yards per game in the NFL. During his first year with the team in 2021, he oversaw an improved Cowboys defense that allowed the seventh-fewest points each week. In fact, Dallas ranked among the top 10 scoring defenses in each of his three seasons with the team.
Parsons' arrival coincided with Quinn's, as the 24-year-old was drafted with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft. He has developed into one of the league's premier edge rushers, recording at least 13 sacks in every year of his young career.
Quinn will now take over as head coach for the first time since 2020 when he was with the Atlanta Falcons.
He'll attempt to turn around a Commanders team that struggled during the 2023 season while trading away key pieces on the defense, resulting in a league-worst average of 30.5 points per game allowed.
