Expert Super Bowl Producer: Taylor Swift 'a Gift from the Gods' for Impact on NFL, TV
One longtime television person who has produced seven different Super Bowls would be overjoyed if he were in charge of production for this year's game between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs if Taylor Swift is in attendance.
Speaking to The Athletic's Richard Deitsch, Fred Gaudelli said he would "consider it a gift from the gods" if Swift was in the stands at Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 11.
Gaudelli has produced seven Super Bowls in the past 20 years starting with Super Bowl 37 between the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was most recently involved in the production two years ago when the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals.

He broke down the ways that television production worked during that game and how it would apply to Swift potentially being at this year's Super Bowl:
"We had (Rams quarterback) Matthew Stafford, his wife and kids. We had (Bengals quarterback) Joe Burrow's parents and girlfriend. We had (Rams wide receiver) Cooper Kupp's wife. We had (Rams offensive lineman) Andrew Whitworth's wife and kids. We had (Bengals wide receiver) Ja'Marr Chase's mom and dad. You have these shots set up because they're part of the story of the game and because there's five times as many people (watching) as you would get for a normal game. Right off the bat, you're already thinking about who's at the game, and in L.A. we had celebrities like LeBron James and Jay-Z. (Director) Drew Esocoff was cutting those shots during the game. So when Stafford threw a touchdown pass, there's a shot of Stafford's wife. Burrow is on the ground writhing in pain? You see his mom and dad and his girlfriend with the ultimate look of concern.
"Now you have Taylor Swift, who also is someone that has a direct connection to the game because she's a significant other of one of the stars of a team. Maybe you don't show her for every Kelce sequence, but she's going to be part of sequences when he makes a play."
It's hard to know if Swift being at the game would actually impact the ratings. She certainly won't hurt them, but the Super Bowl is the most-watched program on television every year.
NFL television ratings were trending up this season even before Swift's relationship with Travis Kelce was known. The season opener between the Chiefs and Lions did the highest rating for an opening game since 2015.
For the entire calendar year of 2023, 28 of the top 30 most-watched primetime programs were NFL games.
Swift, much like the Super Bowl, is a pop-culture phenomenon and has had a positive impact on the NFL's bottom line. Apex Marketing Group told Margaret Fleming of Front Office Sports she has generated the equivalent brand value of $331.5 million for the league between print, digital, radio, TV, highlights, and social media mentioning since her first appearance at a Chiefs game on Sept. 24.
Fleming also noted that female viewership for NFL games was at its highest level since tracking began in 2000.
Even though reports of Swift being shown on NFL television broadcasts have been greatly exaggerated by some, she will certainly get some camera time if she's able to be at Super Bowl 58.
It hasn't been officially confirmed Swift will attend, but she is reportedly planning to be there despite playing a concert in Tokyo the night before the game.
The 49ers and Chiefs will play Super Bowl 58 on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
