Raiders Rumors: Former Saints Assistant Kris Richard Interviews for HC Job
Could Kris Richard return to his former team?
The former New Orleans Saints assistant has completed an in-person interview for the Las Vegas Raiders' head coaching job, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He played for the franchise in 2007.
Las Vegas has also interviewed former Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, per The Athletic's Tashan Reed:

Richard was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2002 draft out of USC. The former defensive back spent three seasons with the franchise before joining the San Francisco 49ers in 2005.
In 39 games across four seasons, Richard posted two pass breakups, one forced fumble, one sack and 54 tackles.
Richard was a member of the Raiders' practice squad in 2007 and didn't appear in a game for the franchise.
Richard entered coaching in 2010 as an assistant defensive backs coach for the Seahawks following a two-year stint as a graduate assistant at USC. He was named Seattle's cornerbacks coach in 2011 and was the team's defensive backs coach from 2012-14.
The Seahawks promoted Richard to defensive coordinator in 2015 and he served in the role through 2017 before joining the Dallas Cowboys as the franchise's defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator from 2018-19.
Richard served as a defensive backs coach for the Saints in 2021 before being promoted to co-defensive coordinator in 2022. He and the Saints parted ways after the 2022 campaign.
The Raiders are looking for a new head coach after firing Josh McDaniels during the 2023 season. Antonio Pierce took over as interim head coach to close out the regular season, and he is among the candidates for the full-time job.
In addition to Richard and Frazier, the Raiders have also interviewed Pierce.
Pierce has the support of the players after leading the team to a 5-4 record to close out the season. Defensive end Maxx Crosby posted Friday on X, formerly known as Twitter, "#HireAP," and wide receiver Davante Adams told reporters earlier this month that he wants Pierce to be the next head coach.
