Russell Wilson Rumors: NFL Execs See Steelers, Vikings, Falcons Among Landing Spots
Assuming Russell Wilson gets released by the Denver Broncos and becomes a free agent, there are several teams in need of a quarterback that could at least have interest in the nine-time Pro Bowler.
Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, people around the NFL cited the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons as potential landing spots for Wilson.
One league personnel evaluator told Fowler that Wilson still has some good things to offer in the right situation.

"Still an instinctual thrower, still has arm talent to throw the ball downfield," the evaluator said. "Still a good enough mover. Has always thrown a good deep ball. It's just if you ask him to throw the ball 35 times a game, he's probably going to struggle. That's just not who he is."
The Steelers may have to figure out their coaching situation before worrying about a quarterback. Mike Tomlin, who has one year remaining on his current contract, had a unique response when asked about his deal after Monday's playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Even if Tomlin returns in 2024, it seems unlikely Kenny Pickett will be the starting quarterback. The second-year quarterback was medically cleared to play prior to a Week 17 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks after dealing with an ankle injury, but he didn't dress for the game.
Mason Rudolph led the Steelers into the postseason. Pickett has as many touchdown passes as interceptions (13) in 25 career appearances.
Kirk Cousins' future with the Vikings is uncertain, as he is a free agent coming off a torn Achilles. The 35-year-old was having arguably the best season of his career with 2,331 yards and 18 touchdowns in eight starts prior to suffering the injury.
The Falcons are in the process of finding a new head coach. They've requested interviews with nine different candidates and completed interviews with six of them, including Bill Belichick.
Until the Falcons hire a coach, it's hard to know what direction they will go with their quarterback. It's safe to assume they intend to upgrade after Desmond Ridder struggled in his first season as the starter.
Wilson will likely be released by the Broncos this offseason after he was benched for the final two games of the season. They could also try to find a trade partner, but it seems unlikely another team would want to acquire his $37 million base salary for next season after his struggles over the past two seasons.
