Giants' Top Options With No. 6 Pick in 2024 NFL Draft
The New York Giants enter NFL draft season with a litany of offensive issues.
The Giants will likely have to replace Saquon Barkley at running back and they are desperate to land a No. 1 wide receiver and offensive line help for Daniel Jones.
New York can only select one prospect with the No. 6 pick, although it would love a rule change to take three top-tier prospects in one fell swoop.
Brian Daboll and his staff are tied to Daniel Jones and his mega contract, whether they like it or not, so they have to find the right fits to build around the quarterback.
Offensive line and wide receiver should be the targets at No. 6 since most of the premier prospects at those positions should be available.
Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State

Bleacher Report's NFL scouting department mocked Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu to the Giants in their latest draft predictions.
Fashanu would likely move to the right side of the offensive line to complement Andrew Thomas, but for the Giants, anything is an upgrade over Evan Neal.
Neal, the No. 7 overall pick in 2022, has not lived up to his potential in New York and the Giants can't go another season in which their quarterback gets sacked at a high rate.
A Thomas-Fashanu partnership at offensive tackle would set a good foundation on the interior to protect Jones for years to come.
However, an offensive line pick at No. 6 means the Giants would miss out on one of the premier wide receiver prospects.
The team needs to figure out which need is greater, and if wide receiver is the answer, Neal could get another year as the starting right tackle.
Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

The Giants have Darius Slayton, Wan'Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt under contract at wide receiver for the 2024 campaign.
Robinson and Hyatt are solid complementary pieces, but neither player looks like a true No. 1 wide out at the NFL level. Slayton has been a supporting piece of the offense for most of his career.
LSU's Malik Nabers is one of two wide receiver targets the Giants should have at No. 6.
Nabers is the No. 7 overall prospect in the draft class, per B/R's NFL scouting department. Only Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr., a likely top three pick, is rated higher at the position.
Nabers turned in back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at LSU, and he improved in all of the major stat categories this season.
He recorded 1,569 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 89 receptions. He had 72 catches, 1,017 yards and three scores a year ago.
Nabers would give the Giants a big-play No. 1 wide receiver that they have lacked for years, and it would make the passing attack much more dangerous with the three returning wide outs and Darren Waller in support of the top-tier pass-catcher.
Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
3 of 3
The Giants' decision could come down to Nabers or Washington's Rome Odunze.
Odunze is the No. 3 wide receiver and No. 9 overall prospect in the 2024 draft class, per B/R's NFL scouting department.
Odunze also produced consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. He scored a bit more than Nabers over the last two seasons.
The Washington product totaled 20 touchdowns over the last two seasons to go along with 75-and-92-reception campaigns.
Odunze is three inches taller than Nabers, and if that is something that matters to the Giants coaching staff, he could hold the edge over the LSU wide out due to his measurables.
Both Nabers and Odunze have the potential to be No. 1 wide outs right away in the NFL, so the decision could come down to small details that are picked apart over the next three months.
