Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 15: Latest Fantasy Football Lineup Advice for Sunday
The 2023 fantasy season and for those managers still vying for a playoff spot, or amid their league's postseason, every point counts.
Knowing which stars to sit and which to start may prove the difference between victory and defeat.
Ahead of the Week 15 action, these are the players and units to pay attention to as you look to win your league title and the bragging rights that come with it, starting with an Eagles running back who has been far too quiet in recent weeks.
All stats via FantasyPros unless otherwise stated.
Start: D'Andre Swift, Philadelphia Eagles
1 of 4
D'Andre Swift has not scored double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five games, which likely created some hesitancy among fantasy managers to start him this week against Seattle, especially with postseason berths on the line.
Ease those tensions because Swift has the opportunity for a get-right game against a Seahawks team giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs at 23 a game.
They have been especially bad since Week 9, with FantasyPros writing, " Since Week 9, Seattle has allowed the second-highest explosive run rate and rushing yards per game while giving up the highest missed tackles per attempt."
Swift has fallen below projections over the last month but as the Eagles look to get back to a rushing game has been limited to a total of 152 yards in their last two games, losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, expect him to get back to the level of play that allowed him to produce 10 or more points in six of his first 11 games.
Sit: Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens
2 of 4
In three of his last five games, Baltimore running back Gus Edwards has seen single-digit touches give way to single-digit fantasy production amid the rise of Keaton Mitchell and an increase in passing attempts from Lamar Jackson.
In Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams, he had six touches for just 15 yards.
Edwards was a key contributor to the Ravens offense and in weeks seven through 11, was one of the best fantasy backs in football. The emergence of the explosive Mitchell, and greater reliance on Jackson to be the Mr. Everything that he has been for the Ravens since his debut in the league, has limited Edwards' opportunities.
They should limit his appearance on your fantasy lineup, too.
Outside of a scenario where he is in the game specifically to eat up the clock, sit him and grab Mitchell off the waiver wire. He is available in 43 percent of Yahoo and 65 percent of ESPN leagues.
Start: Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams
3 of 4
The Washington Commanders are giving up 35.8 points to opposing wide receivers.
The Los Angeles Rams are coming to town, with one of the best wide receivers in the league in Cooper Kupp and a rookie in Puka Nacua on his way there. That their quarterback, Matthew Stafford, is playing his best ball of the season, only exacerbates the issues facing Washington Sunday.
And highlight why both Kupp and Nacua are must-starts.
Nacua has already accumulated 1113 yards in his rookie season, with four touchdowns through 13 games.
Kupp, in just nine games, has caught 41 balls for 547 yards and three touchdowns.
The Rams have relied on, and thrived because of, the running of Kyren Williams but against a frankly bad Commanders defense, both Kupp and Nacua will have opportunities to add to their stats in what has the potential to be a high-scoring game for a red-hot Rams offense.
Sit: New York Jets Defense
4 of 4
The New York Jets defense has been one of the strong points in an otherwise disappointing season, but their first match-up with the Miami Dolphins in Week 12 saw them give up 395 yards and 34 points in a loss.
Yes, there is rain forecasted for Sunday's game, and there is a real possibility that Tyreek Hill will not play after suffering an ankle injury Monday night in a loss to Tennesse, both of which could slow down the Dolphins' high-powered offense.
With that said, there is too much at stake at this point in the fantasy season to risk starting a defense against a team capable of taking a two-yard hitch route 75 yards for a touchdown. The Dolphins are too explosive to risk it, even if the Jets' defense managed 13 points against them three weeks ago.
Sit the Jets and start a defense that is facing a struggling offense, like the Colts or Chiefs.
