Fantasy Football Big Board: Complete 2023 PPR Player Rankings for Week 14
It's gut-check time—and then some.
In most fantasy football leagues, Week 14 brings with it the final week of the regular season. For some managers, it's just a formality. For others, it's the culmination of a disappointing year. But for many fantasy managers, the postseason has already essentially begun. Win this week, and it's on to the postseason tournament. Lose, and that's that—the party's over.
To say that the pressure has ratcheted up is an understatement. Every lineup call can mean the difference between victory and defeat. Every fantasy point is the difference between playing on and packing it in.
The point of this column is making sure that Week 15 matters for your fantasy team. Here you'll find position-by-position rankings for PPR leagues, some matchups to target and avoid, and a list of the top 100 players overall.
Now take a deep breath and let's go.
Quarterbacks
1 of 6
When fantasy managers drafted Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, they did so under two conditions. The first was the expectation that those quarterbacks would perform at an elite level. The second was that both carried a relatively hefty price tag.
They may be the two highest-scoring quarterbacks in fantasy, but they haven't been the best value at the position. That title belongs to a few other signal-callers.
Per the Average Draft Position data at Fantasy Pros, Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys was the 10th quarterback drafted in 2023. Thirteen weeks in, he is third at the position in fantasy points. Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers came off boards 19th on average and ranks sixth in fantasy points.
But rookie C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans has been the biggest steal of all. In drafts this summer, he was selected as QB24—the very back end of QB2 territory in 12-team leagues.
Now, as we enter the final week of the fantasy regular season. he is fourth among quarterbacks in points. He has outscored Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers. And Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.
Good Matchups
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (vs. PHI) [DraftKings DFS Value: $7,400]
We have already seen this movie once this season. Back on November 5, the Cowboys and Eagles battled in Philadelphia. The Eagles won that game 28-23, but Prescott had a big day for fantasy managers, passing for 374 yards and three touchdowns.
Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos (at LAC) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,800]
The Chargers shut out the New England Patriots Sunday, and they have ceded the title of the NFL's worst pass defense to the Washington Commanders. But the Los Angeles pass defense still isn't good, so Wilson should rebound from his three-interception performance in Week 13.
Bad Matchups
Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks (at SF) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,700]
Smith is coming off, arguably, his best performance of the season last week against the Dallas Cowboys. But the last time he faced the 49ers things did not go well at all--180 passing yards, no touchdowns and an interception.
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (at BAL) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,000]
Stafford played well last week in a bad matchup with the Cleveland Browns, throwing for 279 yards and three scores without an interception. Asking him to repeat that feat in a second consecutive bottom-three fantasy matchup this week is a tall ask.
Sleeper
Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns (vs. JAX) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,700]
Outside one bad interception. Flacco looked surprisingly competent against the Rams—the Jets would do cartwheels for that level of quarterback play. The Jaguars have struggled on the back end this season and rank among the top-five teams in fantasy points per game allowed to quarterbacks.

Running Backs
2 of 6
Back in 2019, Christian McCaffrey put up one of the all-time fantasy seasons at the running back position when he rushed for almost 1,400 yards, scored 15 times on the ground, caught over 100 passes, topped 1,000 receiving yards and caught four touchdowns through the air.
He averaged 29.3 PPR points per game and scored almost 10 more PPR points per game than the No. 2 running back.
To be fair, McCaffrey isn't quite approaching those heights in 2023. He has just 51 catches in 11 games and is averaging about 24.6 PPR points per game.
But the Niners also aren't running McCaffrey into the ground (he had 403 touches in 2019 and then struggled with injuries in 2020 and 2021), and he's still blowing the doors off every other running back in fantasy football—about six more points per game than the next-closest player at the position.
Of the players at running back (and wide receiver, for that matter) who were in the mix to be the first player drafted in 2023, a pretty compelling argument can be made that McCaffrey has provided the best return on investment.
Good Matchups
Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings (at LV) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,500]
The big story surrounding the Vikings offense in Week 14 will no doubt be the potential return of star wide receiver Justin Jefferson. But Mattison could also be a solid play against a Raiders defense allowing 127 yards per game on the ground and the sixth-most PPR points per game to running backs.
Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals (vs. IND) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,100]
The sledding hasn't been easy for the Bengals offense since Joe Burrow went down, and that includes Mixon. But the Colts are averaging 133.3 yards per game on the ground, and so long as Cincinnati can stay in this game, they will lean hard on the ground game.
Bad Matchups
Zach Charbonnet, Seattle Seahawks (at SF) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,400]
Charbonnet had a solid effort last week against the Dallas Cowboys, amassing 99 total yards and a touchdown. But this week he and the Seahawks are on the road against a 49ers run defense allowing a league-low 79 yards per game on the ground.
Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (at ATL) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,800]
White is proof that sometimes opportunity trumps talent—he is a top-five fantasy running back in many scoring systems despite averaging just 3.7 yards per carry. But no team has surrendered fewer PPR points per game to running backs in 2023 than the Falcons.
Sleeper
Dameon Pierce, Houston Texans (at NYJ) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,000]
There's real risk involved with trusting the Houston ground game given the vacillating workload between Pierce and Devin Singletary. But Pierce had almost twice as many carries as Singletary in Week 13, and the Jets are a favorable fantasy matchup for running backs.

Wide Receivers
3 of 6
We could use this intro to talk about Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins and his onslaught on the single-season receiving yardage record or the potential return of Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Instead, though, we're going to celebrate the most consistent wideout of the past decade.
With seven catches for 162 yards and a touchdown last week against the Carolina Panthers, Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the 2023 campaign. It's a feat he has now accomplished over each of the first 10 seasons of his career—something no other NFL receiver has done.
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles lauded Evans' skill and consistency.
"I don't know what more you can say. He's done this for 10 years now," he told reporters. "Over 60 catches 10 years in a row. Over 1,000 yards 10 years in a row. You know he's getting the ball, and everyone is trying to stop him, and he makes plays over and over. It's a credit to him and his work ethic. The way he approaches the game, it's unbelievable."
Evans is also seventh in PPR points among receivers, with 25 or more points in three of the last four games.
So much for Baker Mayfield killing his fantasy value.
Good Matchups
DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks (at SF) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,700]
Metcalf was held in check by the 49ers in their first meeting this year, catching three passes for 32 yards. But the 25-year-old is coming off a monstrous effort against the Dallas Cowboys, and the Niners have been a favorable fantasy matchup for wide receivers.
Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos (at LAC) [DraftKings DFS Value $6,100]
Sutton only caught two passes in last week's loss to the Houston Texans, although one of those was a 45-yard touchdown. This week, he and the Broncos take on a Los Angeles Chargers team that has struggled mightily against the pass most of the season.
Bad Matchups
Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints (vs. CAR) [DraftKings DFS Value: $7,000]
Olave has been good but not great this season—16th in PPR points among wide receivers. The Carolina Panthers haven't done much right this year. But they have played the pass relatively well, 27th in PPR points per game given up to wide receivers.
Garrett Wilson, New York Jets (vs. HOU) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,500]
Wilson's fantasy managers have already had to contend with a parade of putridity under center. It's unclear which Jets quarterback will start in Week 14, but whoever it is will have to contend with cornerback Derek Stingley and a solid Houston pass defense.
Sleeper
Elijah Moore, Cleveland Browns (vs. JAX) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,500]
With Amari Cooper sidelined by a concussion last week, Moore was far and away the top target for Joe Flacco in the Cleveland passing attack. Most players who have landed in the concussion protocol this season have missed a game, so Moore could well be Cleveland's No. 1 wideout in Week 14.

Tight Ends
4 of 6
It's been a wild year at the tight end position.
With four weeks to go in most fantasy seasons, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs isn't the No. 1 option at the position, at least in total points—that honor belongs to T.J. Hockenson of the Minnesota Vikings. Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens remains inside the top five for the season, but that's not going to stick with his season likely over.
Without question, though, the biggest surprise of the 2023 season in fantasy football is Sam LaPorta of the Detroit Lions, who has made fans in Motown forget about Hockenson quickly.
Last week against the New Orleans Saints, he led the Lions in targets with nine and in receiving yards with 140. And he found the end zone for the sixth time—a number that is tied with Andrews for the league lead at the position. LaPorta is third among all tight ends in PPR points.
So much for rookie tight ends needing time to acclimate to the NFL.
Good Matchups
Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens (vs. LAR) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,500]
Likely has demonstrated in the past that he can be a fantasy-relevant tight end when Andrews is on the shelf, and the Rams have been kind to opposing TEs in 2023. They rank sixth in PPR points per game given up to the position this season.
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons (vs. TB) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,700]
Get that look off your face. Yes, the idea of starting Pitts in a must-win game feels like begging Arthur Smith to crush our hopes and dreams. But that doesn't change the fact that Tampa ranks inside the top 12 in PPR points per game allowed to tight ends.
Bad Matchups
Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars (at CLE) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,800]
Engram has been essentially just what fantasy managers expected in 2023: a decent, if unspectacular weekly starter at tight end. But there isn't a team in the NFL that has surrendered fewer PPR points per game to TEs this year.
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints (vs. CAR) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,400]
Hill is easily the hardest tight end to project matchups for, because he's not really a tight end. But in terms of PPR fantasy points per game allowed to the position, the Carolina Panthers have given up the seventh-fewest.
Sleeper
Tyler Conklin, New York Jets (vs. HOU) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,000]
Trusting any pass-catcher for the Jets right now isn't easy to talk oneself into. But it's worth noting if Trevor Siemian draws the start that Conklin led the Jets with nine targets ahead of a matchup with a Texans team allowing the third-most PPR points per game to tight ends.
Week 14 Tight End Rankings
1. Travis Kelce, KC (vs. BUF)
2. T.J. Hockenson, MIN (at LV)
3. Sam LaPorta, DET (at CHI)

Kickers and Defenses
5 of 6
Kickers don't get much love in fantasy football. Quite a few leagues have eliminated the position altogether. In most of the others, they are afterthoughts.
Part of the reason kickers are the subject of such disdain is that they are nearly impossible to predict. It makes sense that Brandon Aubrey of the Dallas Cowboys would be productive given the team he plays for, but no one was stampeding to draft him over the summer. Exactly zero people expected Dustin Hopkins of the Cleveland Browns to be second in fantasy points at the position after 13 weeks.
If there's one we should have seen coming, it was Jason Myers of the Seattle Seahawks. One year ago, he finished the season fourth in fantasy points among kickers. This year, he's third, but he was available in the last round of just about every draft.
That's the moral of this intro. A reminder in December to carry into June: Never, ever draft a kicker before the last round.
Good Matchups
Evan McPherson, Cincinnati Bengals (vs. IND): The Bengals offense was able to get untracked Monday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Colts have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game this year to kickers.
Pittsburgh Steelers Defense (vs. NE) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,100]: Yes, the Steelers just allowed 24 points to the Arizona Cardinals at home. But the Patriots have scored all of 13 points in their last three games combined.
Bad Matchups
Tyler Bass, Buffalo Bills (at KC): This game has more than a little shootout potential. But the Bills aren't going to want to settle for field goals against Kansas City, and the Chiefs rank last in the AFC in fantasy points per game surrendered to kickers.
Dallas Cowboys Defense (vs. Philadelphia) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,100]: Given the Cowboys' penchant for big plays and defensive touchdowns, you almost have to start them. But they are coming off a dud week against Seattle and have already laid one egg this year against the Eagles.
Sleeper
Minnesota Vikings Defense (at LV) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,100]: The Vikings aren't a great defensive football team, but they have one of the NFL's best edge-rushers in Danielle Hunter, and the Raiders have given up the ninth-most fantasy points per game to defenses this season.

Top 100 Players Overall
6 of 6
Before unveiling the top 100 players overall for PPR leagues in Week 14 (a list that can aid with flex lineup decisions), let's get a few things out of the way.
The first is that no quarterbacks are included in this list. If you play in a superflex league and have a viable second QB, make with the flexing. If you have any quarterback for the New York Jets, they are not viable.
That sobbing you hear is managers with shares of Garrett Wilson.
Second, this is the last of the bye weeks, and the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders have the week off. Not a huge blow, but with injuries continuing to mount, being without James Conner and Brian Robinson isn't ideal.
Finally, for a great many managers, the edict this week is simple: Win the game or else. Given that situation, take a look at your opponent's lineup if possible. It's not something I generally advise, but in this situation it's a good idea to get a feel for whether you're an underdog and if so by how much.
The steeper the climb you face, the more aggressive you should be with lineup decisions. Higher-risk, higher-ceiling players may flame out, but at this point there's no difference between losing by four and losing by 40.
