College Baseball Regional 2023: Bracket, Schedule, Live Stream and More
The hunt for Omaha, Nebraska is set to begin with the first pitches of the 2023 college baseball tournament.
Up first is the regional round, a 16-site portion of the 64-team tournament. The winners of the double-elimination weekend will advance to the Super Regionals with a chance to make the College World Series.
Wake Forest enters the tournament as the top-seeded program, while a record eight SEC schools are regional hosts.
Ahead, we'll provide a refresher on the format with the bracket, viewing information and a preview of top seeds.
Tournament Format
1 of 3
The opening weekend is best described as an action-packed frenzy.
Within each regional, the host school (top seed) plays the No. 4 seed. The second- and third-seeded teams play in the other matchup. This double-elimination portion of the tournament trims the field from 64 to 16.
The teams are vying for a shot at the Super Regionals, which will take place on the second weekend. Two teams square off in eight locations; the winners of each best-of-three series head to Omaha.
In the College World Series, eight programs are divided into two brackets. Again, it's a double-elimination round.
Finally, the winners of those brackets play a best-of-three championship series with a dogpile on the match-winner and a trophy at stake.

SEC Stacks Up Regional Hosts
Among the 16 sites for the opening weekend, eight are at the parks of SEC programs. That group includes Florida (2), Arkansas (3), LSU (5) and Vanderbilt (6)—all front-runners to host a super regional—along with Kentucky (12), Auburn (13), South Carolina (15) and Alabama (16).
Florida two-way standout Jac Caglianone and outfielder Wyatt Langford are among the key players to watch. LSU also boasts outfielder Dylan Crews and pitcher Paul Skenes, two of the best 2023 draft prospects.
Star-Filled Wake Forest Lands No. 1 Seed
Ace pitcher Rhett Lowder is an absolute nightmare to face, boasting a perfect 13-0 record with a 1.69 ERA in 15 starts. Brock Wilken has crushed 27 homers, while Nick Kurtz has clubbed 23 more.
It's no surprise the Demon Deacons stood atop the selection committee's ranking, and they're aiming to become the first No. 1 overall seed to win the NCAA tournament since Miami in 1999.
Mid-Majors to Watch
Want to root for a non-traditional power? Coastal Carolina and Indiana State are among the best mid-major squads. Both programs are set to host a regional on the opening weekend.
If you didn't watch much in the regular season—in which case, welcome!—Campbell is likely an unfamiliar team. But the Fighting Camels narrowly missed out on earning a top-16 seed and have a real chance at emerging from the Columbia Regional (at South Carolina).
Southern Miss (Auburn Regional), Dallas Baptist (Stillwater Regional; Oklahoma State) and East Carolina (Charlottesville Regional; Virginia) are worth monitoring, too.
