Chargers vs. Jaguars: Daily Fantasy Sleepers, Lineup Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings
The AFC wild-card clash between the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars is expected to be the better of the two Saturday NFL playoff games.
Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence could duel in a high-scoring affair that becomes a gold mine for daily fantasy football players.
The Chargers carry the most potential for a sleeper pick to break out with Mike Williams absent with a back injury.
Any one of the Chargers' depth pieces behind Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler could be the difference-maker on Saturday night.
As for Jacksonville, it can take some tips from its Week 3 win over the Chargers.
Herbert was banged up in that contest, but the Chargers still had a strong defensive unit that was gashed by the Jaguars' rushing attack.
The Jaguars' ground personnel could present the best DFS options from their roster, especially if Doug Pederson gets creative with trick plays for ball carriers outside of Travis Etienne.
Sleeper Picks
1 of 3
Josh Palmer, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Josh Palmer was the biggest beneficiary of Mike Williams' injury absence earlier in the season.
Palmer's two 100-yard receiving games came in Weeks 9 and 11 when Williams was sidelined.
Palmer also caught five balls for 56 yards on seven targets in Week 12.
He could be the No. 3 target in the pass game on Saturday behind Austin Ekeler and Keenan Allen.
The consistent success without Williams on the field should have DFS players gravitating in Palmer's direction.
He could be used as a lineup complement in FanDuel and DraftKings contests to Allen, or DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Brandon Aiyuk and Christian Kirk from other teams.
Jamal Agnew, WR, Jacksonville
Jamal Agnew is Jacksonville's trick-play specialist.
The Jaguars will use Agnew's speed off the edge on reverses, or look to spring him on trick play passes.
Agnew has three receiving touchdowns this season. He is used sporadically, but if the Jags nail a trick play, he could be a star value play in DFS lineups.
Agnew is also Jacksonville's primary return man, so he could add DFS points if he breaks a return for a touchdown.
He is way more of a long shot than Palmer, but the risk may be worth it to differentiate your lineup from others in DFS contests.
Chargers Lineup Picks
2 of 3
The Chargers' top DFS picks are straightforward.
Austin Ekeler is going to get a high volume of touches out of the backfield. Keenan Allen will likely be the most targeted wide receiver of Justin Herbert.
Ekeler could be combined with San Francisco's Christian McCaffrey in two-game contests on Saturday to take full advantage of their pass-catching abilities.
The 27-year-old produced four receptions in each of his last three games. He had eight catches on eight targets against the Jags in Week 3.
Allen hit his stride late in the season with two 100-yard performances in Weeks 16 and 18.
Los Angeles' top two playmakers can be paired with Herbert in a solid lineup stack.
Palmer would be the likely fourth option to that stack, but Gerald Everett and DeAndre Carter can also be selected since their usage should go up with Williams sidelined.
The other players available for the Chargers are risks because Herbert could rely heavily on Ekeler and Allen on the road.
Jaguars Lineup Picks
3 of 3
Travis Etienne is Jacksonville's No. 1 DFS option.
The Jags ran for 151 yards in Week 3. James Robinson led the charge with a 100-yard performance.
Los Angeles allowed the second-most rushing yards to running backs in the regular season, and the Chargers allowed over 120 rushing yards in three of their last four contests.
Jacksonville's passing game has a little more variance than Los Angeles' unit.
Evan Engram, Christian Kirk, Zay Jones and Marvin Jones can all be called on by Trevor Lawrence.
Engram is probably the best DFS option to stack with Lawrence and Etienne.
The tight end had a pair of 100-yard games in Weeks 14 and 16. He can be used as a safety option across the middle if Lawrence faces a ton of pressure from the Chargers pass rush.
