Peyton Manning: Possible Landing Spots for Legendary Quarterback

Austin GreenJun 7, 2018

With the Indianapolis Colts locking up the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL draft, it looks like Peyton Manning may be on the way out.

The Colts will undoubtedly draft Stanford prodigy Andrew Luck, and Manning doesn't sound thrilled about mentoring the young QB.

It doesn't make sense for the Colts to hang on to Manning. He's the best player in franchise history, but he's owed a $28 million bonus before next season and Indy has holes at multiple positions.

I also doubt that the 35-year-old Manning wants to spend the twilight of his career on a terrible team.

With that considered, here are three possible destinations for the legendary quarterback.

Dallas Cowboys

Dallas fans should be salivating at the prospect of getting Manning.

The Cowboys offense is already loaded with weapons. Imagine what Manning could do with Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, DeMarco Murray and Felix Jones.

With all due respect to the Packers, Saints and Patriots, that would unquestionably be the best offense in the NFL.

Of course, the Cowboys already have a quality quarterback in Tony Romo. But if he fails to deliver a playoff victory this season, Dallas fans should have no objection about ditching him for Manning.

San Fransisco 49ers

The 49ers had a great regular season, but they won't be winning any Super Bowls with Alex Smith at quarterback.

The rest of the NFC West is terrible, and with a young roster, San Francisco is in position to dominate the division for the next few years.

They have a good offensive line, an incredible defense and solid weapons in Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis.

If they can bring in Manning, they will be the title favorites next season.

New York Jets

Mark Sanchez is just awful, and the Jets need to make an upgrade if they are ever going to capture that elusive Super Bowl trophy.

New York has their fair share of weaknesses, but none is more glaring than Sanchez. He threw seven interceptions in his last three games and completed less than 60 percent of his passes in nine games this season.

The Jets have an elite secondary and a solid rushing attack.

If they can acquire Peyton Manning, they may be able to actually back up Rex Ryan's words.
