NHL Style Vibe Check: Holiday Outfits Around the League
We've reached that time of year between Christmas and New Year's when the days of the week are as meaningless as anything you might be trying to accomplish at the office.
Hockey fans experience this time warp extra hard considering the NHL's holiday break, but that break is somehow already over. It's time to get back in the swing of things ahead of the Winter Classic.
Let's ease back in and mentally prepare ourselves for the upcoming Winter Classic outfits with a recap of the best holiday looks around the league. No rankings this week, just an appreciation for the players who went out of their way to make us smile this holiday season!

Arizona Coyotes
Josh Brown, Zack Kassian and Patrik Nemeth all nailed the pre-holiday fits in different ways ahead of their game against the Los Angeles Kings on Dec. 23.
Nemeth came prepared with the snowman tie, candy cane socks and pinstripe jacket to match. Kassian went full ugly sweater. Brown is ready for anything with a simple vest over an otherwise innocuous look.
Nashville Predators
Matt Duchene is showing us this season how much he loves a theme, and I am here for it.
I may have to give the fit of the team to Filip Forsberg, though, for the candy cane suit and having these red high tops at the ready.
Finally, we got a terrifyingly accurate rendition of the Grinch from Ryan Johansen.
Activities outside of the rink are usually off-limits in the style rankings, but this is a special occasion, and the look on Mark Borowiecki's child's face says it all.
Boston Bruins
There was a lot going on with the Bruins' coordinated holiday looks this year.
Hampus Lindholm's suit was cute and original with the pixelated Santa and snowmen. Charlie McAvoy opted for classy over cheesy with the understated graphics on his jacket, the clean green tie and the black bottoms.
And of course, David Pastrnak managed to make it somewhat original with the powder blue snowman suit. (Emphasis on the somewhat—Yanni Gourde of the Seattle Kraken was sporting the same one!)

I gotta say, I've never seen anything quite like this all-red number from Brad Marchand. Someone in the comments said he looks like a Batman villain, and I can't say I disagree.
He would crush it as the bad guy with a good heart in any Christmas blockbuster. This suit just solidifies it.

Perhaps no one on the Bruins did it better than Nick Foligno, the unexpected fashion icon of the week.

How fun and original! Something tells me that somewhere in the world (Margaritaville), Jimmy Buffett wore the short-sleeve version of this neon Santa suit to his Christmas celebration.
Winnipeg Jets
Leave it to Adam Lowry to pull his weight in fashion, as per usual.
Minnesota Wild
Ryan Reaves is another fashion heavy-hitter who didn't disappoint with his holiday fit.
But of course, the Wild's main event was Santa Reaves and his sidekick, Kirill Kaprizov the elf.
Vancouver Canucks
J.T. Miller's dachshund sweater might take the cake as the best ugly sweater in the NHL this season.
I know I'm nitpicking here, but as a fellow Jew, it would've been cool to see Quinn Hughes in a Hanukkah sweater.
Ultimately, Brock Boeser stole the show in Vancouver with this look centered around his candy cane tie.
Toronto Maple Leafs
With the jolly spirit of the holidays in the air, I'm finally giving some credit to Auston Matthews. He and the rest of the Leafs wore these Ryan Reynolds-inspired "aesthetically challenged" Christmas sweaters to benefit the SickKids foundation.
Matthews took it a step further and raised awareness for SickKids with custom skates he wore in-game.
Dallas Stars
Scott Wedgewood—enough said.
