National Dog Show 2022: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Top Breeds and More
Turkeys unequivocally rule Thanksgiving Day, but more and more, it's beginning to go to the dogs.
The 2022 National Dog Show, sanctioned by the American Kennel Club and the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, will air on America's favorite day of thanks, right after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This is the event's 21st anniversary and will feature the beauty, skills and talents of nearly 1,500 canines from almost 200 different breeds.
While all of the dogs and their owners have already participated in the contest held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, Pennsylvania, the results won't be revealed until the television audience is either in a tryptophan coma or approaching one.
With that in mind, here's everything pooch fans worldwide need to know ahead of Thursday's coverage.

It's often said that in order to be the best, one has to beat the best.
That won't be possible at this year's National Dog Show because the back-to-back winner, Claire the Scottish Deerhound, has retired from competition.

So with the Best in Show title vacated, perhaps a newcomer will be declared the winner on Thursday and become known as the new top dog.
Fans will likely be delighted that Seinfeld alum John O'Hurley and expert dog-show analyst David Frei are both back to host this year's event, which should be, well, totally PAWsome.
"It is extraordinary how this TV special has become an annual television-watching tradition for American families," O'Hurley said. "Dogs more than ever have become a part of people's lives and the show reminds us of how great they are and how easy it is for them to make us smile."
Not surprisingly, there will be plenty of primped pooches strutting with their owners on the broadcast, but this year, that will also include junior handlers with their groomed canines.
Then, there's the Incredible Dog Challenge, which will highlight all of the nimble and athletic canines showing off their agility skills.
And with the popularity of the event on the rise, organizers have added three new breeds to the competition to coincide with the American Kennel Club adding them to its breed registry: the Bracco Italiano, the Mudi and the Russian Toy.
Fans can find the full list of breeds at NBCSports.com.
All told, there are seven dog groups competing for the title.
The last two years were ruled by the Hound Group, so it's anybody's guess what group will take the crown this year.
Either way, the show should be a lot of fun for dog lovers everywhere.
