College Football Odds Week 10: Picks, Predictions and Spread for Top 25 Teams
Tennessee was ranked No. 1 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season, which were released earlier this week. Georgia remains ranked No. 1 in the AP poll. And on Saturday, these two SEC juggernauts will face off in one of the biggest games of the 2022 college football season.
It's highly likely that the winner of this Vols-Bulldogs matchup, which will be taking place at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga., will be ranked No. 1 in next week's CFP rankings. Tennessee would solidify its hold on the top spot with a win. But if Georgia wins, it will likely jump ahead of Ohio State and take over the No. 1 ranking.
Either Tennessee or Georgia will also be in sole possession of first place in the SEC East and would likely go on to play in the conference championship game. So it's quite a high-stakes contest.
Before diving deeper into that matchup (and another high-profile SEC clash), here's a look at the full Week 10 schedule for Top 25 teams (per the CFP rankings), along with odds and picks for each game.

Can Tennessee Knock off Defending Champs?
2 of 3
Tennessee has never made the College Football Playoff since the system was implemented in the 2014 season. Now, the Vols are at No. 1 in the CFP rankings for the first time, and they control their own destiny for the rest of the 2022 season.
It's not going to be easy for Tennessee (8-0) to remain undefeated on Saturday, though. Georgia (8-0) is the defending national champion, and it has lost only one game dating back to the start of the 2021 season (a loss to Alabama in the 2021 SEC Championship Game).
Not only are the Bulldogs a dominant team, but they've had the Vols' number in recent years. Georgia has won 10 of the past 12 meetings between the two programs.
But this year's Tennessee squad is much improved. Its eight wins are already tied for the most it's had in any of the past six seasons. And the Vols appear to be headed toward their first season with double-digit victories since going 10-4 in 2007.
If Tennessee can take down Georgia, it will prove to be worthy of a CFP berth. The Vols already have a win over No. 6 Alabama, and this victory would be even bigger, especially because this time they'll be on the road against a top team.
“Great environments, that’s why you come and coach and play in this league," Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel said, per Patrick Brown of 247Sports.com. "You want to be in big-time games, and there’s something unique about being on the road and facing that type of environment, too. It’s fun and exciting."
Will the Vols pull off this upset? The game could go either way. But Tennessee should at least cover the eight-point spread against Georgia, as it should be a matchup decided by only a few points either way.
Alabama Aiming to Play Way Back into CFP Mix
3 of 3
There are six FBS teams in the country that are undefeated, but Alabama isn't one of them. The Crimson Tide suffered a loss on Oct. 15, when they fell 52-49 at Tennessee.
However, Alabama bounced back with a 30-6 win over Mississippi State the following week to improve to 7-1. And now, fresh off a bye, the No. 6 Crimson Tide will look to notch their biggest win of the season thus far when they go on the road to face No. 10 LSU on Saturday.
If Alabama hopes to reach the College Football Playoff for the eighth time in nine seasons, it likely can't lose again. The Crimson Tide and Tigers both have 4-1 conference records, and they're tied atop the SEC West with Ole Miss.
After this week's matchup at LSU, Alabama will go on the road to face Ole Miss the following week. So if the Tide can roll through both of these matchups and then finish the regular season with only one loss, they'll have an opportunity to play in the SEC Championship Game, which would then give them a great chance to get into the CFP once again.
Alabama can't look that far ahead yet. Not when it has to take on LSU, which is 6-2 and has won six of its past seven games.
"We really need to come together as a team vs. a good opponent, and that’s obviously going to be really important for this game versus LSU, who, right now, is probably playing as well as anybody in the country," Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban said, per Charlie Potter of 247Sports.com.
Even though Alabama is on the road, it's a 13.5-point favorite in this matchup. Expect quarterback Bryce Young and the Tide offense to ensure they win by more than that, as they're the better team, no matter how well the Tigers have played of late.
