Week 4 DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Picks, Lineup Tips for Sunday
The fourth Sunday of the 2022 NFL season is upon us, and many fantasy enthusiasts will undoubtedly look to get their fill of daily fantasy sports (DFS) action.
The beauty of DFS is that managers can craft a new lineup or lineups every week. Are you unhappy with Aaron Rodgers' sluggish start to the season or frustrated that Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 4? That's OK, because you're not tied to them all season.
The challenge, of course, is finding the right lineup that's within your FanDuel or DraftKings budget.
We're here to help by examining four stellar matchups that shouldn't break the bank. We'll dive into what makes these players solid options for Sunday and how they fit into the overall DFS strategy.
Russell Wilson, QB, Denver Broncos
1 of 4
DFS Value: $6,700 on DraftKings, $7,100 on FanDuel
One strategy that managers can employ involves loading up on high-end running backs and receivers. This can be tricky to work into the DFS budget, but taking a value quarterback can help.
Denver Broncos signal-caller Russell Wilson is substantially cheaper than, say, Patrick Mahomes, who has a DraftKings price of $8,000.
Wilson, of course, hasn't gotten off to a good start in Denver. The Broncos are 2-0, but Wilson has thrown just two touchdown passes and has tallied a mere 22 rushing yards. He's probably not your immediate choice for a budget QB.
However, Wilson is still a talented signal-caller and has players like Courtland Sutton and Javonte Williams at his disposal. He's also facing a poor Las Vegas Raiders defense that has struggled to contain opposing passers.
Las Vegas ranks 26th in passing yards allowed and just surrendered 264 yards and a touchdown to Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill. With better receiving weapons with which to work, Wilson should have even better numbers than that.
This should be considered a get-right game for Wilson and the stagnant Broncos offense. We should also see Wilson a little more willing to run. He scrambled six times last week after only logging three rushes over the first two.
Jamaal Williams, RB, Detroit Lions
2 of 4
DFS Value: $6,100 on Draftkings, $7,400 on FanDuel
Along with St. Brown, Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Detroit, though, believes that its ground game will be just fine.
"It’ll be by committee and we're confident, very confident," head coach Dan Campbell said, per ESPN's Eric Woodyard. "Trust those guys."
Backup Jamaal Williams should be a big part of that committee, as he was in Week 3. Against the Minnesota Vikings, he carried 20 times for 87 yards and two touchdowns while catching two passes for 20 yards.
Williams may not find the end zone twice this week, but he could have even more prolific yardage numbers. The Seahawks have been awful against the run this season.
Seattle ranks 30th in rushing yards allowed and 23rd in yards per carry (4.9) surrendered. The Seahawks have also given up four rushing touchdowns in three games. It would be a surprise if Williams doesn't find paydirt at least once.
Plus, there's some point-per-reception (PPR) upside here. Williams is a fantastic receiving back, and Jared Goff may rely on the checkdown often with St. Brown out of the lineup. Expect big things from this moderately priced back.
Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons
3 of 4
DFS Value: $6,100 on DraftKings, $6,300 on FanDuel
Top wideouts like Cooper Kupp ($9,400 on FanDuel) can get rather pricey, and it's hard to have two of them in a budgeted lineup. Our tip here is to find lower-priced receivers who have a similarly large target share.
Atlanta Falcons rookie Drake London is exactly this sort of receiver. The rookie has been targeted 25 times (roughly 33 percent of Atlanta's throws) this season, according to Pro Football Reference.
Through three weeks, the USC product has tallied 16 catches for 214 yards and two touchdowns.
This week's matchup with the Cleveland Browns is a good one, too. The Browns defense has been good in spurts but has a tendency to give up big and sometimes broken plays. Against the New York Jets in Week 2, rookie wideout Garrett Wilson shined.
Wilson finished that game with eight catches, 102 yards and two touchdowns.
London might not have quite that prolific of a day, but he's going to have plenty of opportunities to catch passes. There's a lot of PPR upside with the rookie, and the Falcons may lean heavily on the pass.
Standout running back Cordarrelle Patterson has been battling a knee ailment and missed most of the week's practices before returning as a limited participant on Friday.
David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns
4 of 4
DFS Value: $3,700 on DraftKings, $5,700 on FanDuel
What we said about target shares holds true for tight ends as well. Browns pass-catcher David Njoku hasn't been heavily targeted all season, but he was against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.
Njoku was targeted 10 times and made nine receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Now that quarterback Jacoby Brissett is starting to build some chemistry with his tight end, we'd expect Njoku to be a huge piece of Cleveland's passing attack moving forward.
The Falcons are a spicy matchup for Njoku as well. Only the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins have surrendered more fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season, according to FantasyPros.
Given Cleveland's habit of giving up big plays—and the fact that star pass-rusher Myles Garrett is out—the Falcons offense should fare well this week. This could lead to a shootout and a lot of opportunities for Njoku in the passing game.
Grabbing two pass-catchers on opposite sides of a potential score-fest is a great way to find value in second-tier DFS options. In this instance, we like partnering London with Njoku.
