Alamo Bowl 2011: Robert Griffin III Will Blast Through Washington
Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III not only won the Heisman Trophy this season, he projects to be a star in the NFL.
This season, Griffin has led the Bears to a 9-3 record, "upsetting" such teams as Oklahoma and Texas.
He's passed for nearly 4,000 yards, tossing 36 touchdowns to six interceptions, and rushed for 644 yards and nine touchdowns.
So when I hear that he's going up against Washington in the Alamo Bowl on Thursday, excuse me if I don't give Washington a chance.
Not only is Washington 7-5 this season, the Huskies have allowed 33.3 points per game and 283.8 passing yards per game.
Griffin destroyed then-No. 5 Oklahoma on Nov. 19, passing for 479 yards and four touchdowns while tossing the game-winning touchdown with eight seconds remaining.
The fact of the matter is, Griffin actually plays better in high-pressure situations, and with a chance to lead Baylor to a bowl win on Thursday, it could get ugly in a hurry.
Griffin has said he will announce his decision regarding the 2012 NFL draft after the Alamo Bowl. While he's said the bowl game won't dictate whether he declares or not, there's no doubt he wants to play well.
Griffin has a lot of play for on Thursday, with a chance to further etch his name into Baylor's folklore and soar into the NFL draft.
A team like Washington won't have a chance to stop the unstoppable force that is Robert Griffin III.
