WWE News: Identity of Wrestler for "It Begins" Promo Possibly Revealed

According to 24wrestling.com, the rumors of Chris Jericho's return are in fact true.

It is believed that even though there is no contract between the WWE and Jericho, Vince McMahon is confident of his return:

Despite rumors to the contrary, the cryptic promos airing for January 2012 are meant for Chris Jericho as of this writing.

News came out last week that talks fell through between WWE and Jericho but they are still ongoing as of right now. Also, Jericho recently said he would never wrestle for WWE again and when asked what he would be doing in January, he responded “Working in Hawaii”. That’s likely a cover-up.

Word is that the deal between WWE and Jericho is not done yet but Vince McMahon wanted to begin the hype now. Obviously Vince McMahon is confident a deal will be made with him. WWE officials want Jericho back on RAW brand to help boost ratings in the new year.

Even though the site is very confident that this will come to fruition, this is still purely speculation. We have seen this before and will continue to see rumors leading up to the actual date of whomever is coming back.

Let's face it, fans were confident that last year's 2/21/11 promo was meant for Sting's WWE debut. Some even went as far to say it was for both Sting and The Undertaker. However, as we all found out, the promo was built solely for The Undertaker's return.

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens here.

Personally, I hope it's for The Undertaker. It would allow him some pre-WrestleMania build for an in-ring return.

Not that WrestleMania needs extra promotion, what with the Rock/Cena match.

My reasoning is simple. This will allow "The Dead Man" to finish his WrestleMania career at 20-0 and give the WWE a fresh start without The Undertaker's presence.

Also, as a Jericho fan, I would like to see him continue his outside projects and be completely done with wrestling.

Jericho has done all he can do in the WWE and has nothing to prove.
