Then he got injured.

Then Jones came back last week, started putting things back together and scored the first two touchdowns of his career.

In the Falcons' Week 10 loss to the division rival New Orleans Saints, Jones was forced from the game once again with an apparent hamstring injury.

UPDATE: Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 p.m. EST

Julio Jones is inactive for the Falcons' game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Jones has battled a hamstring injury all week.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports tweeted the following about Julio Jones' injury status on Sunday:

"

Coaches want Julio in warmups to prove he can open it up pain free and hammy has healed but they don't think he will, hasn't done much all week. He's NOT ruled out but they say he's doubtful

"

Atlanta updated Jones' status during yesterday's game via Twitter:

He never returned to game, but was seen pleading his case to get back in the action.

The Falcons staff told him otherwise.

The move brings up two points: the severity of the injury and long-term caution from the Falcons.

Atlanta knows it'll need his explosive playmaking ability in its push for a playoff berth.

The loss to the Saints aside, the Falcons are still very much in the hunt for the division title or a wild-card berth.

Quarterback Matt Ryan would love to get more time with Jones actually on the field, but risking him for the season would have been foolish.

Jones was replaced by Harry Douglas again and the usual No. 3 receiver responded with a team-high eight catches in the loss.

If Jones is to miss extended time, it would be Douglas who takes over in the No. 2 role opposite Roddy White.

The Falcons didn't update his status Monday, but we'll know more by Wednesday at the latest.
