New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham celebrated a touchdown catch in the second quarter on Sunday by slam dunking the football over the goal post with a two-handed throwdown, leaving the post rattling long after he dunked over it.
It was a solid slam dunk, and it further displays Graham's athleticism that makes him so hard to defend. Graham's touchdown gave the Saints a 10-6 lead over the Falcons, which they would take into halftime.
Graham was wide open on the play, and there was no way Saints quarterback Drew Brees was going to miss his tight end.
New Orleans Saints beat writer Jeff Duncan of the The Times-Picayune tweeted the following about Graham's catch:
Jimmy Graham with a two-hand slam after that 21-yard TD catch to give the Saints a 10-6 lead. The goal post is still shivering.
Graham is having a fantastic season, and has been one of Brees' most reliable targets.
The Saints tight end has 55 receptions for 791 yards and five touchdowns through nine weeks this season, and is becoming one of the better tight ends in the NFL.
The Saints need to beat the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday to take over first place in the NFC South. A loss to the Falcons on Sunday would drop the Saints to 6-4 with a matchup against the NFC East-leading New York Giants in Week 11.
Graham is going to be a great player for a long time, and is a worthy selection for the Pro Bowl this season.
