NFL Picks Week 10: Teams That Will Not Give Up Home-Field Advantage

Jeff ChaseNov 12, 2011

If your NFL team is playing at home this weekend, then you better hope that the idea of home field advantage holds true. There are a lot of games this weekend with important implications moving forward in the football season. No team wants to lose when they are at home where they have the benefit of the environment and the fans.

We are in Week 10 and the NFL season is just approaching its most important games. This is where playoff teams are decided, and obviously no one wants to lose. This holds even truer at home. Here are the teams that will not let themselves lose at home.

Philadelphia Eagles

After falling to the Chicago Bears in Week 9, the Eagles will not drop this game against the Arizona Cardinals. Quarterback Michael Vick is still one of the most electrifying players in the NFL, and he will have no problem lighting up the Cardinals through the air and on the ground.

LeSean McCoy will also do his part, and he will tear up the ground game against the Cardinals. The Eagles' defense will have an easy job, as it doesn't really matter if it against is their former quarterback Kevin Kolb or John Skelton. Neither quarterback poses a serious threat, and running back Beanie Wells will have a hard time moving the ball all on his own.

Chicago Bears

With the NFC Wild Card berth on the line, the Bears will not let the Detroit Lions get past them this time around. There is no denying how close this game will likely be, but at the end of the day the Bears will get the best of the Lions.

Quarterback Jay Cutler has been looking like a stud, and the offensive line is actually protecting him. They will need to prove themselves this weekend against the Lions, who are ridiculously strong on the defensive line. If they can stop their defense, the offense should be able to get things done. The Bears' defense is their strong suit as always, and they likely will not take any steps back in this matchup against their division rivals.

Wide receiver Calvin Johnson is still a scary thought for any defense, but the Bears will be looking to shut him and quarterback Matthew Stafford down to stop this offense that can go off at any minute. It will be a great game, but there is no way the Bears will give up this game at home with all that comes with it.

If the Packers manage to defeat the Minnesota Vikings, they will move to 9-0. There is no way they are going to let that first loss come against their weakest division rival. The Packers may not have the best pass defense, but their rush defense is ridiculous. Honestly, what else do you need to stop the Vikings? Quarterback Christian Ponder has potential, but the team's lack of receivers will not work against the Packers.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will continue to prove that he is the greatest quarterback in the NFL, and he will likely be toying with the Vikings defense all day. The Vikings' only chance to stop the Packers comes by slowing their passing game due to their lack of a running game, but that just doesn't seem likely. The Packers have the best quarterback and receiver group in the NFL, and the Vikings' defense just doesn't stack up. If there is any shoe-in home win this week, it is that of the Packers over the Vikings.
