The college basketball season is around the corner. That means we are about to be hit with a bevy of preseason tournaments to whet the appetite. Enter the glory of the NIT Preseason Tipoff.

We are without NBA basketball, but that hardly means we need to mope around the house waiting for exciting hoops. Starting on November 14th, we will get a myriad of games with some reputable programs.

Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State and Stanford lead the way in top-tier hoops action that I will savor in the wake of a looming NBA lockout.

Featured Teams: Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State and Stanford

Other Participating Teams: Manhattan, Albany, Brown, Monmouth, George Mason, FIU,  Fresno State, Colorado State, SMU, Ark.-Pine Bluff, Oral Roberts and UTSA

Format: The 14th-16th will deliver a great deal of hot college basketball action. The four brackets come together for the semifinals on the following week. Friday, the 25th, will be dedicated to the Finals and consolation game.
