Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings: Aaron Rodgers and Stars That Will Fall Flat

Donald WoodNov 2, 2011

Fantasy football season has rushed by so far, and the road to the playoffs is being paved with wins and losses during this ever crucial bye week period.

If you can make it through with a solid record, itโ€™s just a matter of time before your roster is back to where you need it to be, and the playoffs are where you excel.

With Week 9 being one of the most important of the season, there are a few key stars in the NFL that will come up small for the fantasy owners that must start them every week.

Aaron Rodgers

The Green Bay Packers are coming off a bye and are running into the slumping San Diego Chargers.

While this looks like an easy win, Philip Rivers has an attitude, and when he has the kind of poor performance he had last week, he usually follows it up with an inspired performance.

If that happens, the already tough San Diego defense will play like men on fire, and while the Packers may win this game in the end, it will be a defensive battle. That means low totals for Rodgers and the Packers bunch.

Anquan Boldin

The Baltimore Ravens have figured out how to thread the ball to Anquan Boldin, but donโ€™t forget that they did this against the Arizona Cardinals.

Now that the Ravens are facing a Pittsburgh defense that isnโ€™t the same one they faced in Week 1, there will be nowhere for Baltimoreโ€™s offense to go.

If Pittsburgh can stop Tom Brady and Wes Welker like they did last week, they will have no problem stopping Joe Flacco and Anquan Boldin.

Ahmad Bradshaw

The New York Giants are facing some turmoil in the locker room with backup running back Brandon Jacobs talking about deserving more carries.

With Bradshaw a bit gimpy from last weekโ€™s game and the foot injury he sustained, I think that head coach Tom Coughlin will feed the ball more to Brandon Jacobs this week and cut back the carries for Bradshaw.

With a New England Patriots defense that has adjusted and gotten better against the run, it will be Eli Manning that will pass the Giants to a victory. Poor Ahmad Bradshaw.
