Fighting Words: Bob Arum Jacks Mayweather Up During Pacquiao Media Day Workout
It looks to me like Bob Arum is now pulling out all the stops to finally get the Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight made. Either that or he actually doesn't want the fight himself and is trying to make Mayweather so mad at him that the possibility of ever cooperating on a deal will be about as likely as getting peace in Palestine in time for the Advent.
Either way, the big story coming out of the Pacquiao media workout today, as reported by ESPN.COM, is the octogenarian promoter's contention that the mega-fight will never end up happening, essentially because Mayweather is scared:

Super Bowl champ calls out former team
""When Mayweather talks about how he hates Top Rank he's talking bulls---. What Mayweather hates is Manny's right hand. Mayweather has no chin and Manny will knock him out. Pacquiao and Mayweather is a three or four-round fight. Period. And who knows that best? Mayweather. The one thing Mayweather has had throughout his career is he knows boxing. He understands boxing and Mayweather can not compete with Manny. It's the right hand of Manny that is preventing that fight from happening. If Manny agreed just to jab with the right hand the fight would be made in 30 seconds."
"
Arum goes on in the article to criticize Mayweather for taking out Ortiz while Ortiz was trying to hug him after he egregiously fouled him with a flying headbutt to the grill.
I have gone on record many times as saying that I do think Pacquiao beats Mayweather. But it ain't happening in no three or four rounds.
But hey, if Arum wants to liven things up at what might otherwise be a pretty routine media event by spitting some good copy, bless him. And if he can get Pretty Boy mad enough to sign, we will all be happy in the end.
