Auburn, Tommy Tuberville Decision Over - Tuberville Fired

Tommy Tuberville left the thumping of his team in Tuscaloosa a confident man. 

Now, on Wednesday morning, that confidence is wavering. Athletic Director Jay Jacobs had not publicly said a word as of yet and meetings were still going on between Jacobs, big boosters and other administration personnel.

Tuberville was not included in these meetings. 

That in itself may have said a lot.

In times like these rumors are rampant, and the only thing you can do is to piece to good ones together as best you can. With that in mind, I've taken a look at what sources have said.

Boosters wanted Tuberville gone convinced Jacobs that they can come up with the buyout money. Jacobs was hesitant because of the buyout.

It was just announced that Tuberville would be fired immediately, given three million in 30 days and the other 3 million next year.  It was not disclosed if there were any terms or conditions.

Tuberville leaves as the third coach Nick Saban helped to the unemployment line this season.  The utter thrashing that took place this past Saturday was the straw that broke the camel's back according to insiders.

Tuberville may or may not be back in coaching next year.  Many think his stock is high despite this season's setback.  His agent would not say if there were any pending offers at this time.

The true story of what transpired over this past week would be an interesting story.  I'm sure it's one that Auburn will never tell.  We may never know exactly what tipped the scales.  Not until Tommy publishes his tell-all book.

UPDATE!

Strong rumors coming out of Miss. State is that they will pay him at least what Auburn did, maybe more, to come there and take over for Sly Croom.   Will he take it?  Stay tuned...
