My Fantasy WrestleMania XXVIII Card

Sam WatkinsSep 5, 2011

With the WWE's current storyline involving CM Punk, Triple H, and Kevin Nash, one must begin to wonder how long we will be seeing these three square off every week. As we've seen in the past, the WWE likes to hint at WrestleMania matches very early in the year and set up feuds for months to come. Though most are unknown at the time, this is a WrestleMania XXVIII card I would pay to see.

Shooting StarShip Pain (c.) vs. Awesome Truth For The WWE Tag Team Championship

1 of 9

The WWE Tag Team division seems to be improving with AirBoom winning the Tag Team Championship, and Miz and R-Truth forming The Awesome Truth. Unfortunately, the WWE does not appear to be ready to give guys like John Morrison and Evan Bourne the pushes they deserve, so why not put them in tag teams?

As much as I enjoy Evan Bourne, I can't stand Kofi Kingston. Perhaps somewhere along the line, Miz and R-Truth attack the champions, taking Kofi Kingston out of action. Evan Bourne now is without a partner, so John Morrison steps up, a guy who has had problems with both Miz and R-Truth in the past. Morrison and Bourne form a high-flying tag team, Shooting StarShip Pain.

Both men will want retribution against Awesome Truth, leading to a match at WrestleMania. This match will give John Morrison and Evan Bourne the chance to prove themselves against established Superstars like Miz and R-Truth, possibly proving themselves to the WWE personnel as well. This match could lead off the WrestleMania card, and a victory for Shooting StarShip Pain would energize the fans and allow both men to gain momentum.

Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara

2 of 9

This match is inevitable, with Sin Cara turning heel recently, the WWE seems to agree that these two starts should eventually square off. Mysterio is currently out with injury, but when he returns, these two are likely to feud. Similar to his feud with Alberto Del Rio last Summer, Mysterio will believe Sin Cara is a disgrace to his heritage, leading to their WrestleMania match. Mysterio will win, pulling out a major victory.  This should take care of the "hero overcomes adversity" match for WrestleMania.

Jack Swagger (c.) vs. Zack Ryder for the WWE United States Championship

3 of 9

Jack Swagger seems to be starting a feud with Dolph Ziggler over manager Vickie Guerrero. Ever since his loss of the World Heavyweight Championship at the 2010 Fatal Four Way PPV, Jack Swagger has been spiraling down, it seems that maybe this Ziggler feud could bring Swagger back to where he belongs. Both Swagger and Ziggler are extremely talented, and could continue a long feud over the United States Championship (and Vickie Guerrero).

Jack Swagger finally wins the feud, but Vickie decides she doesn't want either man. Around WrestleMania season, Zack Ryder challenges Jack Swagger for the championship, as the WWE continues to slowly push Ryder to the main event. Though Jack Swagger gets the victory at WrestleMania, Zack Ryder benefits too, showing he is capable of putting on quality matches.

Kelly Kelly (c). vs. Beth Pheonix vs. Kharma for the WWE Divas Championship

4 of 9

The WWE Divas division appears to be headed in the right direction. Dustin Rhodes (Goldust) has taken over the division and the more talented divas like Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix, and Natalya look to be leading the Divas at the moment.

Kharma was dominating the Divas division before her departure due to pregnancy earlier this year. The in-ring return of Kharma at WreslteMania would increase the intensity slightly, as opposeed to a normal Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Pheonix match.

Kelly and Beth can continue to feud as they are now and Kharma can return as WrestleMania comes around -- restarting her feud with Kelly Kelly.

A championship win for Kharma would help her pick up the momentum she dropped, and possibly continue a feud with Kelly Kelly after WrestleMania

Randy Orton (c.) vs. Chris Jericho vs. Daniel Bryan For The WHC

5 of 9

Daniel Bryan has already announced that he will be cashing in his Money in The Bank contract at WrestleMania in Miami.

At the 2012 Rumble, Chris Jericho will return and win, wanting revenge on the man who took him out of action with a punt to the skull, Randy Orton. Orton will feud with guys like Mark Henry, Wade Barrett, and Sheamus leading up to WrestleMania, and will enter the Pay-Per-View still holding the World Heavyweight Championship -- perhaps regaining it at Elimination Chamber.

Daniel Bryan will still try to be the respectable Superstar, and decide to use his contract in a Triple Threat match with Orton and Jericho at WrestleMania.

Most people will count Daniel Bryan out, due to the way the WWE has built Randy Orton and Chris Jericho up, but Bryan will pull off the upset, winning his first World title.

Money In The Bank Ladder Match

6 of 9

Participants

- Cody Rhodes

- Mark Henry

- Mason Ryan

- Sheamus

- Drew McIntyre

- Ted DiBiase

- Dolph Ziggler

- Big Show

For the first time in two years, the Money In The Bank Ladder Match will return to WrestleMania. This gimmick match has increased viewers for years and should be a main attraction of WrestleMania.

The favorite for this match will be Sheamus. Sheamus will gain momentum before the PPV, and look to be returning to his old form where won two WWE Championships within a year's time.

A typical Money In The Bank match will occur, with Cody Rhodes pulling off the upset in the end. Cody will jump into the main event, where he should stay for the rest of his career.

Alberto Del Rio (c.) vs. Wade Barrett For The WWE Championship

7 of 9

In 2010, Wade Barrett seemed poised to win the WWE Championship, feuding with stars like John Cena and Randy Orton. When he moved to SmackDown earlier this year, many believed he would win his first major title, but that is yet to happen. After a face turn before Royal Rumble this year, Barrett will return to Raw. He and Alberto Del Rio will be competing in the Raw Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship at the PPV in February. The two Superstars will be the final men in the match, and Barrett will be close to victory, until Riccardo Rodriguez interferes. Rodriguez will slip an object through the chamber, allowing Del Rio to hit Barrett, and win his second WWE Championship. This will set up a major feud between the two, accumulating in a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania. Both Superstars are extremely well rounded, and should be able to carry a great feud. In the match, Barrett will defeat Del Rio, earning his first of many championships in WWE.

John Cena vs. The Rock

8 of 9

As announced last April, John Cena will face Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, at next years WrestleMania. The two have already had some great encounters, and they are expected to continue as WrestleMania draws closer. The Rock will be at this years Survivor Series PPV, and will most likely be involved with John Cena. This match, similar to Hogan vs. Rock a few years ago, will likely play in favor of the current WWE Superstar, John Cena.

The Rock and John Cena should be able to put on a classic match, as both are excellent wrestlers, but nobody, not even The Rock, will be able to beat Superman.

Undertaker vs. CM Punk

9 of 9

I would put John Cena against the streak this year, but he already has a planned match against The Rock. CM Punk is one of the best technical wrestlers in the business right now, and he should be able help make the Undertaker look as good as he did 10 years ago. The Undertaker can return around WrestleMania season, and CM Punk will challenge his 19-0 streak, believing that "The Best Wrestler In The World" is fully capable of beating the Deadman. This match will solidify the idea that CM Punk is the future of the business, as he takes the Undertaker to the limit, like 19 others (technically 20 because he defeated The Big Show and Mark Henry in a handicap match) have done before. In the end, the streak will go to to 20-0, in what will likely be the final WrestleMania match of his career. A classic back and forth match between a definite Hall of Famer, and a Superstar that could someday enter the Hall of Fame, should cap off an epic WrestleMania.
