The raucous crowd at the HSBC Center is ecstatic in anticipation as they cheer on their rising sun, the immortal Anderson "The Spider" Silva in his home country of Brazil.

Bringing his 13-fight win streak to the Octagon, arguably greatest striker on the planet will look to retain his UFC middleweight championship a coveted ninth time as he defends his crown against Yushin "Thunder" Okami.

Known for his strength and size, Okami utilizes his tremendous judo background to secure victories inside the Octagon by wearing down the opposition with his clinch game and ground-and-pound.

This matchup began as anticipated. Silva danced and feinted his way around Okami as he delivered unanswered punches to the face of the Japanese practitioner.

Attempting to work inside, Okami's efforts at a takedown were thwarted by Silva as he continued to dance around Okami keeping his distance and landing his arsenal of strikes.

Round 1 concluded with a chorus of boos from the strong Brazilian-based crowd. However, Round 2 the fans would have the result they sought.

Aggressive from the onset, "The Spider" blistered "Thunder" with a multitude of jabs and leg kicks before dropping Okami with a single shot.

Taunting his fallen opponent to stand up and fight, Silva waits for Okami to rise and then drops him again with a single punch.

This time, the champ follows up with a multitude of devastating punches and elbows forcing a stoppage by referee Herb Dean at the 2:04 mark of Round 2.

Silva's performance was nothing but stellar. He is truly the greatest striker on the planet and should be rightfully defined as the greatest pound-for-pound mixed martial artist to ever grace the famed Octagon.

Who has the ability to defeat Anderson Silva?

Will he retire the UFC middleweight champion?

These questions will be answered in the future. In the meantime, I can only revel at the absolute destruction possessed by Silva and his effortless victories over the sport's greatest No. 1 contenders.

Anderson "The Spider" Silva is truly the best.

I welcome your comments.
