Day 1 Live Blogger: John Burke

The first round of the year's final major is upon us!

As the 2011 PGA Championship begins, there are numerous story lines that intrigue many golf fans.

The Atlanta Athletic Club provides the last chance for Tiger Woods to make an assault on Jack Nicklaus' Major record in 2011. This season has not been kind to Woods, who has dealt with various injuries and drama with a former caddy.

It also provides the United States with another chance to win major. We need to go back a few majors to find an American winner, and although we have come close, the PGA Championship is a great chance to show the world the U.S. can compete.

As the golfer's hit the course, stay tuned to Bleacher Report as each player attempts to put his name in the history books.
