Neither Roger Federer nor Rafael Nadal will open their efforts in the singles draw from the Masters Series 1000 event on Tuesday.

However, look for both of the fan favorites to be in action on Wednesday.

Federer's opponent is yet to be determined although it will be either Juan Ignacio Chela or Vasek Pospisil, two players who were playing in the third set of their first round match at time of writing. Chela is the more dangerous opponent of the two having recently made a quarterfinal match in a major.

Nadal's opponent is known as he will face Ivan Dodig, a player who represents Croatia and one who has made some headway in 2011. Dodig won a hard court title earlier this season as he took down ATP Zagreb and more recently he made a grass court final on tour in the Netherlands.

Even so Nadal, who made the semifinals at the Canadian Masters last season, should not be troubled in the match. The Spaniard has received some luck as fourth seeded Andy Murray is out of the tournament.

Murray suffered a surprising defeat to Kevin Anderson on Tuesday afternoon and that result weakens the talent on Nadal's half of the draw.

Key matches still to be played on Tuesday include Novak Djokovic vs Nikolay Davydenko and Marin Cilic vs Juan Martin Del Potro. Those two matches are the late matches to be played from Montreal tonight with Djokovic and Delpo the favorites to advance.
