It's been confirmed by several websites including resistancepro.com; that Smashing Pumpkins front-man Billy Corgan is getting in the wrastlin' business.

This should not come as a surprise as Corgan is an avid wrestling fan and has worked with TNA in the past, so he knows about the business.

Corgan is not only the founder of Resistance Pro Wrestling, but he is also serving as "Creative Director."

The official announcement is slated for August 13 and will take place at Wizard World Comic-Con in Chicago. The choice of city should also come as no surprise as Corgan hails from Chi-Town.

For those of you planning on attending Wizard World Comic-Con, Corgan will be making his announcement at the Judas Posters booth at 5 PM sharp.

The current Resistance Pro website is still under construction, but that will probably change after the official announcement.

It should be noted, that his "mission" for the company is pretty simple:

"Bring a unique professional wrestling company, to you the fans."

It will be interesting to see how this launch will go, I personally hope this company takes off. However, I fear that it will be just another Indy company that will struggle to find its way.

Let's face it, Billy Corgan's name alone should garner some early press. However, in the end, it will all depend on how it's ran and who he puts in place to help him on whether they sink or swim.
