British Open 2011: 3 Most Impressive Shots from Day 1
The first day of the British Open has come and gone. Believe it or not day two is going to be starting up in a matter of hours, but there is still plenty of time to reflect on the day that was the first round of the 2011 British Open.
The storylines were plenty, the surprises were many, and most of all the quality of the golf played did not disappoint whatsoever.
While I expect the great play to continue, I don’t think it’s right for us to move on to day two without recognizing and forever highlighting these three shots from day one:
3. Thomas Bjorn
1 of 4Thomas Bjorn is an incredible story of perseverance through disappointment and tragedy, and even if he can't hold on to the lead I believe his play in round one was extremely commendable.
He had a few nice shots on the day too. Especially on hole 16, one that has haunted him in the past.
2. Tom Lewis
2 of 4Lewis left the course at the end of day one tied for first at five under.
Oh, did I mention that he is an amateur?
Check out the beautiful putt that got him there.
1. Dustin Johnson
3 of 4Hole in one!
Need I say more?! Check it out and enjoy the beauty of golfs greatest challenge.
